Thinking about asking my girlfriend to marry me

New member
Ive been through a lot of girls in my life and I know this is the girl for me, Im 28 and shes 22 by the way. Weve only been together 3 months but Im going to start saving for a ring now and by the time I get the ring and ask her we would have been together for about 8 or 9 months. Weve been very close for the short time weve known each other and I would have seen a "chink in the armor" at this point, but she is genuine in every way and damn near perfect. In the past I let the perfect girl get away but Im not letting that happen this time. Share your experiences if this is all similar.

I hope that all goes well. Can you send the number of that perfect girl to Frackal?

How are you feeling?

broly, she is 22 you are 28 she will be re-tooling in a few years, find an older chick unless you got lots of cash, they usually hang around those dudes

dude don't do it. if it's meant to be then having a relationship for 3 or 4 yrs will still be viable. I love these morons that are like, "I wanna marry her". What's the difference between marriage and a steady relationship?? NOTHING!!! It's just a title. you don't have to be married to experience the same things. Usually marriage ruins things. And for those people who think, "well if we are married I know i have them for life" Well if they are gonna leave you or cheat on you they can do it when you are married anyway. Hope this helps. Two of my friends had this recently happen to them. One was engaged and found out his girl was banging like 5 guys on the side. The other was married and found out she was banging a guy on the side.

Nope. Bad idea IMO. Take it easy bro' why rush? Just enjoy going out for now and if things last a long time then do it. Not after a few months.

Take everything that pple say as a grain of salt, but make sure you read what they say. Only YOU and HER will know if it's right or not. Shit, my parents only knew each other 2 weeks before they got married......they have 3 boys and a healthy relationship. Never any huge arguments and I can honestly say out of all my other friends or aquaintences, we have the tightest family structure. Still going strong over 23 years together. There are a lot of smart asses on the board so just read all the good stuff and utilize it.

Thanks. To clarify again, I am not going to pop the question until I have to ring, which wont be for another four or five months.

Three whole months huh.

It took me longer to find the right pepper mill.

you know, im in the same boat. my pepper grinder is the biggest piece of shit, and it makes my pepper taste like plastic.

i really want to get one of those nice wooden ones that waiters carry around in upscale places. any suggestions?

im being serious here. my pepper means a lot to me.

Pauly's parents are truly blessed and I think we may be able to all agree that his parent's situation is not the norm.

There are a few couples on this board that also met and married very quickly and I am amazed and at the same time thrilled for each and everyone one of them.

However, I still think the concept is insane and can't say I would do it even if I felt "oh my God, he is the one".

Logic prevails I guess.

But it's just my opinion, doesn't matter, you're a grown man and you're going to do what you want to do regardless.

Good Luck.

If I told you that I found my dream pepper mill at TJMaxx would you believe me?

No, I can't either.

I bought my first one-nighter mill in desperation. He was short, stubby and chrome, stylish but he gave lousy pepper.

But then there was woody.

God bless woody.

He is hard to store anywhere being shy of 15" tall but my my, he grinds heavenly.

Woody's German made and I'm guessing he's Hickory.

Try:

William Sonoma
Cooking.com
Chefs.com

I'll look at them too and see if they have my woody and I'll PM you the link if I can find it.

:)

15"? Are you a size queen or what? :eyes:

velvett, you seem like one of the characters from "sex and the city". Urban, modern, sophisticated, etc. so I can understand how this doesnt make sense from your point of view. The woman Im with is small town type with small town values, so this isnt that big of a deal. Ive actually lived in good sized cities my whole life so someone like her is a refreshing change from the usual cat and mouse headgames every woman in this town plays. If Paulys parents are blessed and you are thrilled by couples who are similar then why am I going to do what I am going to do regardless? Regardless of what?

Only you and she will know if it's right or not. Take these next 4 or 5 months to really think it all through. So what if you have enough money? The ring will still be there. Don't jump into it. Good luck also.

Randy,

I'm sorry, poor choice of words on my part.

What I should have said was, you are going to do, or rather you should do what is best for you regardless of what anyone else has to say that is supportive or not of your desires.

Seriously, I do wish you the best.

:FRlol:

I escaped the glass and concrete for horse farms and fishes.

we have another Frackal situation on our hands. so how much are you going to spend on the ring? how much will you be regretting it after you realize that you were a little too quick with the trigger?

Not quite frackal. First of all Im older than him and second of all the woman Im with isnt twice my age.

I'm laughing too...and velvett is plainly having a frackal craving that can only be satisfied in one way.

If you're not living with her yet, don't even consider marriage. First move in together to see if you can live with her. People can be quite different when you live with them. My fiance and I moved into an apartment after about 3 months officially together 3.5 years now

If you really want your marriage to last, go ahead and kill your soon to be mother-in-law. Already you will have eliminated 90% of the fights in your future.

Holy shit Oxandrins got boobies...........:FRlol:

You guys are a bunch of cynical mother fuckers LOL. Shes not psycho, I dont have to move in with her in order to know her better, I dont need a prenup ( I dont have any money and shes not the type anyhow), she is a sweet small town girl who really appreciates me since Im not like the rednecks she is used to, and she is not like the fucked up city girls Im used to. Ive gotten very good at determining which women are worthy and which ones are not. Ive been shit on just as much as the next guy but its my ability to turn over a new leaf with each woman I meet that allows me to have a totally fulfilling relationship.

ok, who wants to get start a pool on when he will make a post how she is a bitch and how stupid he was? i'm going to say 2 months at most. you read it here first.

um.. is this the nutjob bitch tramp whore you wrote about a few months ago???

ok, i looked up past posts.. i was thinking this was the "sick" girl from your october post... or the other girl from the july posts...

uh, dude... i may be the WORST person in the world when it comes to being in a relationship... (i do everything wrong and for the wrong reasons)... but god damn, you have to be in my boat...

with that being said... DO NOT JUMP OFF THE LEDGE when you dont know how far the fall is.

i would just like to point out that pauly's post has been loaded into flame thrower and i am just waiting for the chance to use it. his mom was a mail order bride... lol.
