It was involving atheletes or some shit, saw it on espn2 , the senators a dumb fuck, the whole issue is, guys are jucing and out performing the natural players

They all know these guys have been using they are just looking for a Band Wagon to jump onto to turn the public's attention away from their own dispicable asses until the elections are over, Bastards.

I love how the gov spends out money :(

I keep hoping that they bring someone in who actually knows something about them. The "Drug War" has been going on for how many years now and has yeilded no significant decrease in the amount of drugs on the street. Now THAT I'd love to see the moron's have hearings about.

I don't know if any of you heard what bush actually announced today. He said that he was going to issue a statement to supplement companies requesting that they pull all prohormones and performance enhancing supps of the such from the shelf and that will soon be banned. Creatine was actually mentioned as one of the substances that should be banned. Imagine going to jail for creatine. How silly is this shit!!

I heard one senator in this hearing suggest that all high school students should be tested for drugs to prevent a problem. This is big brother watching you folks and it could lead to very bad things for all of us. The next thing you know they will be telling you what books you can and can't read, what religion to have and what to eat. It totally amazes me that no one is standing up and fighting this. We are slowly losing all of our rights.

I don't know if many of you are even aware of this but one of the freedoms given to our government by the patriot act was to be able to monitor what books you check out of the library. Think about this. Every book you read is known by the FBI. Is this what you call the land of the free. We are letting our freedoms walk out the door and it is some frightening shit.Stand up and do something about it!!!

WORD!

There isn't anything patriotic about that act in the least. It's likely the most unpatriot, most big brother intrusive piece of crap passed through our legislature in years. If you really want to measure it. Think of the Patriot Act in terms of the times of the American Revolution.

I work in the banking industry and the patriot requires us to report all financial transactions of any substantial amount to the government. Okay here is my point. How many terrorist are going to the local first union to open up a CD to save for their next bombing. This shit is silly. It is a way to invade and monitor your personal life. The government watches you more than you think.

I am not in the least way a hater of this country. If anything I love this country and would die for it if it is willing to uphold the standards that were set by our founding fathers. Greed motivates politics now and not the do the right thing attitude that was one there. What every happened to the land of the free and the home of the brave. The whole reason this country was founded was because our forfathers were oppressed in their home countries in Europe. This principle of freedom of choice and to live your life as you see fit is slowly slipping away from us all. What makes me even more nuts is that I am a republican and voted for bush and I am saying this. It must be just as obvious to other people. Of course I could be wrong. People bowed down to stallin and hitler as they destroyed their countries. Most people don't care enough to look past all the bullshit that the politicians say and take their word for fact. Don't think that a few powerful people couldn'tdestroy ours. It can happen anywhere, it did to rome the 1000 year indestructable empire. OK, to sum it all up, get out and vote and let your rep know that you do not agree with what is going on. Stand up for a change and fight by getting to the voting booth this fall.

A wonderfully salient point. If I had any Karma left I'd hit you with some.!

Fuck Bush!!! Hes Such A Piece Of Shit, Everyone Vote For The Democratic Candidate And Get Bush Out Of Office!!!

Everyone vote for Kerry. Bush has lost his mind! CREATINE??!?!!!? hahahahahahahaha

I know,, think about that creatine being illegal,, I am just amazed that baseball is worthy of a senate hearing when there are millions of people with no healthcare and osama is still running around laughing his ass of at us

We want to see home runs, touch downs, high scoring games, 50 yard passes, and so on!!! AS does this for players, our govenment is so full of shit, its there bodies, let them take what they want to,

I can understand no drugs in olymipcs, but american pastimes like base ball, who fucking cares

i would not doubt if the govt tries to ban all supps including vitamins and protein imagine that going to jail for some whey protein or some vitamin c i think its bullshit we will soon have no rights left.this shit gets me rowled up man and you know what i dont think there is much we can do we can try but i think its a lossing battle man that just blows my mind also i think that the govt is banning these supps obviously because they work but i think that the pharmacutical companies are going to make money off of these banned supps by making them perscription whatch when the all new miracle weight loss drug comes out by phiser or johnson and johnson or another pharm company (which will probably be eca) imagine having to go to your doc to get a perscription for vit c or or an older person with joint pain who uses condroitin and glosomine having to go to the doc to get a perscriptio just tink off all the door this opens fo the medical field this shit just gets me so wound up i think i have broken a couple of keys on my keyboard from typing so hard this are jusat some of my opinions but we need to fight back or at least try the sad part is the govt will do anything they can to win the battle just like the way they made ephedra look like some deadly drug but yet its been use in china for hundreds of years oh and i an a supporter of this country but i think we are slowley being stripped of our right that we have come to love and the rights that seperate this country from others like iraq and iran etc just my 2 cents

To think am a registered republican. I have to admit this fucker is going to far. Gues Howard Stern was right.. am voting Kerry, fuck bush I like shaved anyway !

If you vote 4 more years of Bush your freedoms will soon be obsolete. And to think that for much of his life this man snorted coke and collected dwi's, now he's god.

yeah are president is such a hick piece of shit!! fuck him!! He snorted coke, got dwis and got a C average at yale, what a loosa, only reason he got into politics was his daddy

Everyday we are lossing more and more freedoms. They are also trying to crack down on indecency, the FCC is creating indecency laws, just more ways to prohibit speech.

Bush lost my vote some time ago.

There is no arguing that he has certainly overstepped the bounds of constitutionalism and conservatism.

There is a difference between a zealot and a conservative. I am afraid that George Bush is actually a democrat zealot with an agenda.

Only area I agree with him on is defense, and he now seems to be changing his once correct position on that.

Perhaps the juxtaposition of a democratic president such as Kerry and a republican Congress will provide some much needed gridlock.

I have yet to find a meaningful difference between the republican party and the democratic party.

Soon, it will be illegal to obey the law.

Yes, that pretty much says it all. Wont the gridlock be nice again.

Can each of ours alters vote? It would be a landslide.

Also, if steroids were banned from sports, it`s conceivable that people in the stands could outrun the guys on the field! Can outplay, can be bigger, stronger... etc. Imagine that? What kind of entertainment would that be?

no one has done more in the history of America to trash the environment as badly as bush has. this greeely slime bag that runs the ministry of the interior has destoryed countless natural preserves wit methane gas drilling. Its really sickening how Bush has sold out an entire generation... He has made some money for himself and dick cheney yes but he amount of damage he has caused is most certainly 1000times more!!!

The country is Poorer more dangerous and alot less liked in the global environment than when Bush came to office.

rights we have lost or are about to lose and violations of the founding principles of this country since bush has been prez

1. privacy of our email (under the patriot act read your email without a warrant under the assumption you are a terrorist)

2. privacy of our financial transactions (patriot act again)

3. privacy of our reading material, the govt keeps tracks of what books you check out of the library (patriot act again)

4. banning ephedra, a violation of our right to do as we please with our own bodies

5. proposed banning of prohormones, dhea and creatine

6. Freedom of speech, the decency hearings are proposing censorship of media of all sorts

7. Violation of human rights with the proposed banning of gay marriage, although I don't agree with gay marriage personally,, it is a violation of human rights, imagine if blacks were not allowed to marry whites,, it is the same thing in reverse, this goes back once again to the freedom to chose and be who you are

8. proposed destruction of what the constition stands for,, a proposed constitutional ammendment banning gay marriage,, Thomas Jefferson and our founding fathers plainly stated they intended the constitution to protect personal rights not restrict them. This ammendment would be a violation of this principle. There are no other amendments that restrict our rights. The only exception to this was prohibition and we all know how well that worked

9. Violation of seperation of church and state, Bush has all but officially endorsed one religion as our national religion. I am a christian and believe this is wrong. The reason our forfathers came here is because of religious oppression and thus the reason for seperation of church and state.Bush has destroyed this founding principle of our country. Imagine only being allowed to be a baptist and being jewish is illegal. I know this is far fetched but this is what our forefathers feared could happen and the reason for seperation of church and state.

I am sure I missed a few,, feel free to add more if you know of any

The war is on! Article today in Wall Street Journal, "FDA Plans Move on Sports Supplements". We all better be supporting Rick Collins and writing our representatives. What we are seeing is an erosion of our freedoms, especially freedom of choice. I do not use steroids or prohormones, but I want the freedom to choose. Let sports regulate themselves, let parents control their childrens choices and let everyone deal with the consequences of their actions. Government is out of control.

well andro and many other prohormones gone. The FDA issued a ban today. They are also talking about banning creatine and dhea. Imagine that!!!

The biggest problem I see in sports is that the use of enhancement meds by the pros encourages teenagers (or kids whose growth and development aren't complete to be more exact) to use/abuse. I do not think the sports public minds the supervised use by the pros, but they do mind kids abusing the meds. If we eliminate the use of enhancement meds by the pros, then kids will follow suit. I am surprised the govt isn't putting the IFBB or the NPC on the spot. To summarize, my concern is the abuse of enhancement meds by kids.

drmjw while i agree with your concern for children, i think that this legislation has nothing to do with public good, but is rather a diversion for certain politicians.

i think that the way to deal with the issue of steroids is to make them legal for adult use and administered under supervision in clinics only. no drugs in the hands of the user.

sure there may be some diversion by those who own the clinics, but as with anything else, that can be legislated for.

id love to open a pharmacy where i jabbed people in the butt for a $10 fee all day long. ill jsut buy some sunglasses :D and maybe get a beauty therapist in for some hardcore butt waxing :D

Injectables have been self-administered for ages. I doubt legislation will ever pass that requires me to go to a clinic for my daily or weekly injections. We just need to keep gear out of the hands of babes. It has everything to do with kiddie public safety and politics as usual.

i know, but clinic injections will keep meds out of the hands of the public, while maintaining their availability (unless you live on a farm or something)

diversion to minors by adults would be the probable major source of meds used by juveniles, imo

I believe this same argument has been unsucessfully given about chewing snuff, drug use, etc. Kids are going to do these things and more, and correlation with athletes is spurious at best.

Using "kids" as a shield to restrict rights is a usefull but erroneous. Kids will still smoke cigarettes, smoke pot, use drugs, huff butane, and whatever next comes up the pike to utilize. These are the kinds of issues the hose bags in our government and press need to concentrate on.

Supplements bypass the big-pharma patent process whereby they can completely strip the flesh from the finacial bones of the people they're claiming to help. Now, take away all of these non-patented "supplements" so the business of drug makers and weight loss clinics etc can regain profitability at the detriment of your rights. Has not a thing in the world to do with protecting you or our kids.

For sake of discussion let's seperate PH from AAS. For PH, establish age cutoff, like alchohol and tobacco. For AAS, turn back the clock and allow administration by MD's. Keep the government out of this!
As to kids' modeling pro athletes behavior, so what is new? Parents need to monitor the kids. Society has changed and elevated sports to an undeserved position. Why should a sport issue bleed over and affect the general population and result in a president including this in his address to the nation? Pro athletes are just that, professionals paid to be the best. I would expect them to do what is takes to be the best and pushing the envelope. Unfortunately, we have this mindset for everyone who participates in sports at any level. You have to be the best and win, win , win. Until this attitude and message changes, kids will do what is takes to achieve that expectation.
Unfortunately, hysteria and emotions are now driving decisions. The current scenario reminds me of the expression "Don't confuse me with the facts".

It amazes me that they are so concerned about protecting children and yet you hear nothing about all the kids that smoke cigarettes. Not to mention the national obesity epidemic that we are having. I heard about some 18 fat kid the other day having a heart attack. Now that is a real problem, not prohormones and aas's. Yes you could put a legal age on prohormone use but did the legal age stop any of us from drinking and smoking. NO!! This whole thing is about greed so the big pharm companies can have more power.

Yeah, but dude, do you think Kerry's going to be pro steroid or something? Hell, the Democrats are some of the worst when it comes to drug laws because it's an easy way to look tough on crime. There's always a big upside for them, and it's not like there's a huge pro steroid lobby.

Hell, the only way Kerry would be pro steroid is a gay lobbying group asked him to be.
