And the USMC is part of a team....They Ride in Navy equipment to the operation area, take/took support fire from navy ships and jets, airforce bombers, and Navy Seabees build their shit and army and navy provide Docs for them ......... TEAM....

Some of your post is accurate. The Navy does give us a ride to fight, and some medical attention from friendly fire. Marines don't call in airstrikes bro because they murder everything that moves.

Vietnam, the Marines feel they won because they never lost a battle and KIA"ed waayyy more of the VC and NVA then they were KIA'ed...

Afghan, isn't over yet, the Marines will secure it soon...Like they always do.

It is sort of a Team concept, you have trainers, water-boys, cheerleaders, bench warmers then the starting line-up (the Marines).

That's the problem....no operational/strategic understanding.

Google the Battle of Ia Drang valley..a quarter of my History of the Vietnam War class final essay points came from a question asked about why it was important.

I gave credit to the Marines for their copying the Army Green Berets program by implementing their own Strategic Hamlet program. Killing people doesn't win wars...defeating them does...Sun Tsu would claim the general that never fights a battle but wins the war is the greatest.
