Well just my 2 cents but federal guys have certain "threshholds" that must reached before they can commit man hours and resources for a case...however it is the locals you really need to worry about monitoring the source check sites. Many of the locals need and want the media attention on a steriod case. Just think how easy it would be for a local to just sit at a desk and monitor the site then "flip" it. I also agree in the getting to know and trusting a moderator. These are the guys who are in touch and able to tell how the scene is going. Exchanging the info via email is much safer for everyone. If i was a source and i saw my company name on a web site saying i was legit and good to go...well i would freak out and close shop and start all over...lol...
