God damn it. I think that Serge has Arnold beat. I really think that this is my favourite shot, of my favourite physique! Absolutely perfect. And not a freak.

I dont know a bodybuilder who had a more "full" chest development, both upper and lower. Also, look how narrow this guys waist is...

sn103b.jpg

IIRC he was about 200lb too. I happen to agree with you, the only word that best described his physique is "sick"

Ya .. even a very FULL bicept in the frirst pic to. I think that it was hairloss guru who told me one time that he recently read in an old musclemag interview that he used to work out for 3 hours a day and therefor never did cardio once in a pre-contest diet. Craziness????

He went on to further mention that all the top european bodybuilders were working out for that long back in the day. He swore that this was far more effective at burning bodyfat than long cardio sessions.Interesting to say the least. Makes you wonder. Whatever he did, he was doing it right. That and probably some God-like genetics.

I wish bodybuilding physiques were still like this today.

Holy fuck! that'a a perfect body. That chest is sick! unfortunatelly most of that is genetics. And by the way, that is called "bodybuilding"; not the freak shows we see today starring monkeys with monster guts, massive unproportioned legs and non-defined wide backs

He is my favorite bb of all time. IMO, the best build ever, although seems like I read that he weighed around 260 at 5'9" and had a 29" waist.

Oh excuse me. I meant Sergio olivas. This Sergio has an incredilbe physique as well.

I'm sorry, but his legs are not equal to the rest of his body. Arnold's chest/shoulders/back/legs -uh - his whole body was more ripped than Serg. I honestly thought Lou should have came in 2nd on Pumping Iron. I agree, Serg has a great physique, but his legs are small in comparison to Lou and Arnolds..

just my .02

Exactly. Arnold's chest was the most massive and impressive in the history of bodybuilding. Perfect shape, size, and definition. Serge looks great and has a physique that many of us would aspire to have, but Arnold's chest was better. Nobody had freaky legs back in the day, including Serge.

Tom Plats always had freaky tree trunk legs!

Ya .. I agree .. Arnold has him beat in the mass department. He is a little guy compared to them. Especially Lou who is a giant. He is just perfect IMO. I think he is VERY well proportioned, hence the reason he has done so well. He did loose the '75 Mr. Olympia, finishing second to Arnold. Again, we all know its a mass game, even back then. I was reading in the Arnie bible last night, and he comments on how "complete" Serges chest development always was, both upper and lower. Most bodybuilders get 1 nailed down. Sure Arnold rained for many years back then. Its just my personal opinion that I like this physique better. He is a one of the smaller guys compared to Arnold, but still really admire his physique.

I read an interview in Musclemag a few years ago where he stated that he has never done cardio in his life. He gets ripped by upping his sets to around 50 per bodypart with 25 reps. Also said that he would work a bodypart like chest for approximatley 2-3 hours.

He claimed that his way of training burned around 5000 calories in a five hour workout. Insane training methods to say the least! He also said that much fewer europeans did cardio than americans. THe Euros simply like to up their reps and sets when its contest prep time. Hope this helps.

His favorite and only food. Red meat. Five times a day! Judging by his physique, I think im going back on the red meat diet.

HLG

my fav guys today would be milos if he were still competing and victor martinez. im not into the mass game and these guys had/ have what i think is a beautiful body.

hell even my wife thinks that these guys have a body thats not crazy looking. i def agree with her. i know i certainly wouldnt wanna have to try and keep up with a 275 physique. hell im out of breathe easily at 230 lol

I have always thought that Nubret had an incredible physique, and have always strived for it. Thats why when I had a bunch of people compare my physique in the side tri pose to his, I was beyond flattered

thanks, but I definitely wouldnt say better. I've put on over 20lbs of mass since those were taken, I'm curious to see how that pose would come out now, but I want to bulk for at least another 6 months

good call meatneck,

nothing for nothing, but arnold beats him in symmetry and definition in the torso; legs are all arnold's. finally, are we really comparing his arms to arnold's???

awesome, nonetheless.

exactly. fantastic upper body, legs like a sprinter.

A few months ago I saw a few recent pictures of him (taken 2004) and he still looked great. I saw these over at ironage.us forums. Also, side note: he had a small part in a Christopher Lambert movie titled Subway. He looked huge in that movie, made in the mid-80s.

Later,

Jacob

thanks guys, but you know how it is, its never enough

Damn needsize finally new pics...you look awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't worry about bulking. Whatever you are doing, it's good. Amazing genetics there!!!!
There's no doubt those old years (arnold, serge, lou, mike era) was the best one. Just don't get freak like actual bodybuilders.

Yeah bro, haven't seen any updated pics of you in a while. Are you competing this year, or massing up for next year still? Always been a big fan of Nubret. Great physique.

thanks guys, but those arent new pics, they are almost 1 1/2 years old. I took some new ones this summer, I am not in contest shape in these, only around 8%, but this was at 230lbs, 5'8", and about 8%

Ya needsize, I see a resemblance. Especially from that side pose. You have a very full chest as well.

Damn .. some of you guys are pretty hard on ol Serge! lol. Cut him up where you can .. cause there arent that many flaws in that physique. Sure .. his legs arent as big as Lous or Arnolds, but they fit his physique well. Remember this guy is an ecto. Their bodies are meant to have long lean legs.

The guy has done pretty well for himself.

If there was a physique I would aim at achieving myself .. it would be one like his, before Arnolds.

Hairloss guru, that is some crazy shit you were telling me about his training practises. Craziness. Really makes you think. Supposedly European vs North American bodybuiders do things (or did anyways) completely different, as in Night and day! And supposedly the cycles used by each were extremely different as well.

thanks

Personally I cant see why anyone would be hard on serge, yes hes small compared to todays pros, but at the same time how many guys have posted up pics on here, that where bigger than him, two or three members that I cant think of

serge is the man plus he can kick ass with that kung fu karate he knows too

i remember reading that he do curls for 30 minutes

i guess he liked the high rep stuff

Eh bro.. ya for sure I am interested. I would love to read that. Do you have it digitally or something? Dont want to take your mag, lol :p

You guys don't even know how proud I am of ya. lol. Nubret has the baddest fkn build ever. What pisses me off is how he is almost forgotten by many people because they're so caught up in todays distended, bloated, freakfest. If you look at Serge's waist and go up to his chest your jaw drops. That's what a champion is, and that's what bodybuilding is all about. He's a sculptured statue of a greek god. If I had karmic power, I'd give all of you some. Great call.
