is tomorrow. Not that it matters for the next few years because you can just give the Lombardi Trophy to the NY Football Giants and save all the other teams alot of embarrassment.

This will be one of the better drafts in a while. So much talent.

not so sure about that. i think you need good solid quaterbacks to pick from and not sure if this year's crop is cutting it.

Definitely NOT the year of the QB. I think Leinart would have been a good fit for the Jets. Like another Namath.

I'm pumped about Vince Young going to the Titans, though!

time to pull up that thread from about 3 months ago when some were saying V. Young was not an NFL-type QB compared to Leinhart

alot of stupid teams this year in picking but the texans win the award this year for the you blew it award. of course you don't know until a player's career is said and done.

what i don't get is why don't teams take the time to get the know players and ask other players about certain players? you will find out who is who like that. example, ask a player, "what is most important to you in life?" and if "football" doesn't come right out of his mouth then forget about him. also you need ask a player what his favorite nfl team is, and if he says the phi. eagles then you know he is a 10 time loser and time to find another player to pick. if he says, "i don't have one," then you know he is the biggest loser because he is surely a phi. eagles fan and is too ashamed to admit it.

hey, do you smell that? i think Eli shit his pants from fear thinking about the eagles new DLine...

I can't believe the Gints took a DE. yeah, Strahan is gonna eventually get hurt again and either way he ain't getting any younger, but Christ. we have some immediate needs

Stupid Friggin Texans....they deserve to be the worst team in the NFL...

They have a good QB...all they needed was one more offensive threat to spread the field a little...

And they take a DE....

At least snatch up Vernon Davis...6'3 256 4.38 Forty....at least give Carr something to throw at...

mel kiper hates philly's moves... no matter what they are.

and i'm a pat kirwin fan, who LOVES the move, seeing how he actually knows what the fuck he is talking about due to his actually being part of the process before...

plus, getting that other need in round 2 is quite nice, eh?

Ha....

Patriots get the second rated running back in the first round..

second rated wide receiver in the second round....

Sounds like they got a lot of "second rated" players.

It was odd, and something like this rarely happens. They waited YEARS before drafting a WR or a RB in the first round, ALWAYS going with the unsexy picks. Many teams copycat their blueprint winning formula and went defense or O-line, which in turn left skilled players still on the board for them. Their front office is usually one step ahead of the rest of the league, so this shouldn't be a suprise.

Check out this article written by ESPNs Michael Smith...3 days BEFORE the draft! Time will tell if he is a genius or an idiot, but he makes great points:

The Texans should take Williams because he plays the position with more impact... Good running backs come in all sizes, shapes and rounds. Great pass rushers are rare. That's why backs don't get paid what ends do.

...You might even argue that cornerbacks have more value than running backs. Two years ago, Denver dealt two-time 1,500-yard rusher Clinton Portis (a second-round pick, by the way) to Washington for corner Champ Bailey. Running backs, which have the shortest career span of any position, seem to come and go...

New Texans coach Gary Kubiak knows this, having served as offensive coordinator in Denver, where the system -- the same one he's brought with him to Houston -- has produced five different 1,000-yard running backs...

...even if he goes on to be the best ever, Bush still won't change the game. Championships still are won with defense.

From Pittsburgh, New England, Tampa Bay and Baltimore to the Giants, Bears, Steelers and Dolphins -- they all won Super Bowls with great defenses.

...I have a hard time imagining Houston's offense being any better than the Colts' and Chiefs' have been the past four, five years. And how many Super Bowls have they won? That's right. None. Reason No. 1 is that they're still working on pairing those high-powered offenses with comparable defenses.

Any good defense begins with an effective pass rush, which is why you don't pass up a chance to get a freak like Williams
