I want to know how you guys are EATING!!

Good thread about training in this forum, so let's do the same with diet....what's on the menu? stats? bulk/cut?

Lots of pussy. I can curl 15 lbs with my tongue.

Seriously, in a day I'll eat 1 can of tuna, 2 dozen eggs, 2 chicken breasts or a steak, and 2 50 gram protein shakes. For carbs I'll eat a couple slices of reduced calorie bread, a baked potato, a pancake with applesauce(sprinkled w/ Equal and cinnamon), 2 cans of green beans and a salad. Occasionally I'll replace one of my protein/bread servings with a double whopper w/ no mayo. I only eat 1/2 the bun though. I rarely eat/drink dairy products because I don't digest them well. I'll drink 2-3 cans of diet soda a day too.

Low carb "Hair Pie"

Seriously, anyone trying to put on some mass? Post up your diets/theories, etc. Do you believe in fat/carb seperation? How many meals a day?

The following is a lean mass diet that I have been following to a T. It isn't the most glamourus foods(actually quit bland), but it gets the job done. Each meal actually consists of the same exact foods when I start to cut. I just subtract as needed. The key was I amped up to the 4200 cals over about 12 weeks, rather than just adding 1k cals overnight. Anyways here it is:

Meal1-
1 cup oats
16 egg whites
1 tbsp pb

Meal2(PWO)-
50g dextrose
2.5 scoops protein
1/2 cup of oats

Meal3-
3 slices wheat bread
3 chicken breasts
2 tbsp of flax

Meal4-
1 full yam(pretty large)
3 chicken breats
2 tbsp of flax

Meal5-
1 cup of oats
2 scoops of protein
1 tbsp of pb

Meal6-
2 chicken breasts
2 tbsp of flax

Breaks down to:
420grams of protein(40%)
310grams of carbs(30%)
130grams of fats(30%)
4200 total cals

I'm in my last week of 1000mg of test e and this diet helped me put on a very very very solid 15lbs.

Im currently trying to bulk. Ive been hitting the gym hard and trying to control my eatting routine for about 4.5 months now. Im mid week9 of Test520/Deca500 per week. Ive put on 28 pounds so far.

Im not nearly as structured in my diet as someone who is really really taking bodybuilding or bulking seriously. My wife has no motivation to watch what she eats, so it makes for eatting around the house a little more unstructured than what I would like, but I gotta keep the wifey happy heh.

Heres my typical day.

4:30
Shake composed of 1/3 cup Whey Protien Isolate, 2 scoops of Creatine and Glutamine, mixed in 2% milk.
Bowl of oatmeal.

7:00
Protein Shake with 2% milk ( i usually get 2 pints of milk and put Whey in each)
3-egg, Sausage and Bacon and Cheese Omlett.

12:00
6-inch Turkey, Bacon, Ham melt with cheese, onions and green peppers
A bag of Sun Chips

4:00 PWO shake with Whey, Creatine, Glutamine and Dextrose

maybe a snack somewhere in here.

Dinner whenever my wife and I can get to it. She's been trying to cook healthy lately so we have had quite a bit of tuna fish, chicken etc.

Sometimes 1 more protien shake before bed, depending upon how I feel.

So on average I eat 4 solid meals a day with 3 shakes thrown in there.

I dont have the motivation to really watch what times Im taking in what kinds of food etc... but this is the most structured I have ever been in my diet and it has made a world of difference. :Chef:

VERY nice looking diet.....1000mg of test may be overload, but to each his own. Stats? Cardio? Routine? I'd prob. lose the flax in my pw meal, and bump up the carbs.........also, may want to switch to another fat source, nuts, almonds?

All I eat is no sugar oatmeal, dextrose pwo, Macadamian Nut Oil, Chicken, Beef and Whey. Oh ya and 3 salads a day - Mac Oil/Vinegar.

Usually go 40/30/30 carb/protein/fat - Protein @ 450g ED - you do the math.

Right now I am just trying to put some weight back on so beware of what you are about to read.
Morning: 2 eggs, large bagel w/ cream cheese and a glass of OJ
Noon: Usually McDonalds including 2 double cheese burgers (460 calories per), medium fry and a large chocolate shake (1160 calories)
Afternoon: find whatever is available and inexpensive at the time (usually chineesse which usually goes right through me anyway)
Night: 2 Chicken breasts or 2 slabs of steak with stir fry vegies, 2 pieces of texas toast, a whole salad and a gatoraid or something else to drink.

I am always drinking gatoraid or water all day long. At least a gallon a day.
But all this food usually consists of about 4000 to 5000 calories a day.

heres my daily routine:

7am pwo shake, either pro complex or after max depending on whether it's cv weigt training
3/4 cups oats, 1/4 cup sliced almonds, cinnamon, splenda

10pm
8oz grilled tkey breast
2 slices of carb smart bread(no added sugar)
little mustard

1pm
either double meat roasted chicken from subway or 2 chicken breasts grilled with 1/2 baker and salad, oil & vinegar

4pm muscle milk shake

7pm
some type of fish lean beef chicken lean pork usually around 12 oz with a pile of veggies

10 pm 1 cup c.c. or 2 tbs anpb and a casein shake

right now i'm running between 3k-3,500 cals a day.

i'm usually closer to 50/20/30

JKurz, you seem to be pretty knowledgeable about diet, maybe you can help me out. This is my first cycle and I am currently cutting. I started out on a CKD but it sent my bp out of this world. I've cut my sodium and fat intake way back and it is slowly getting back to normal (about 5 days now). Would you mind suggesting a daily intake. I'm just interested in cutting bf under 10% and maintaing strength and mm. Below are my stats:

31yrs
5'10
240
16% bf

Gear
Sust 550mg/ew 1-12
L-dex .5mg/ed

I usually get to the gym between 7-9pm, according to when I get off work.

5'11'' 225lbs 9%bf. Currently doing very little cardio. I just go for a 10min preworkout burn on the eliptical. I will be running the same exact diet from now until the end of summer. The only difference will be I'll be running test/eq/tbol/var and upping the cardio big time.

Here is my typical diet when cutting. I'll mix it up and eat chicken, fish and beef. This is a snapshot from yesterday using FitDay.com:

Skim Milk, 20 oz
Whey Protein, 3 serving
Whole Oats, 0.5 cup
Skim Milk, 24 oz
Whey Protein, 3 serving
Whole Oats, 0.5 cup
Low Fat Cottage Cheese, 1 cup
Turkey Lunch Meat, 4 serving
Egg, white only, cooked, 2 white
Tuna Fish - Can, 10 oz
Mayonnaise-type salad dressing, low-calorie or diet, 3 tablespoon
Low Fat Cottage Cheese, 1 cup
Sardines, 1 serving
Whey Protein, 2 serving

Total Calories 2972
Total Fat 59
Total Carbs 183
Total Protein 415

I'm bulking so I eat...whatever the hell I want.

I eat 3 cans of tuna a day + 2 50g whey shakes and then I eat whatever I want. Today I've had a milkshake, some pizza, some cheerios, a chocolate egg.

I can't wait to eat 2000 calories a day when I diet. Yesterday my team had a track meet (I coach) and I had to bring 5 protein bars with me to get me through the 5 hours.

Pre contest mode
Meal 1 15 egg whites, oatmeal, 50 grams protien, veggies
meal 2 1 lb chicken, potato, green veggies
meal 3 1 lb chicken, potato, green veggies
meal 4 1 lb steak, potato, veggies
meal 5 1 lb turkey, potato, veggies
meal 6 100 grams whey protien

i vary the carbs in a cyclical routine based on workout, energy levels and appearance
ill also add in 3-6 shakes comprised on 1 scoop whole wheat flour and 2 scoops whey protien
For my fat intake I use a blend of Extra virgin olive oil, Primrose and flax. I take several scoops with each meal
lots and lots and lots of vitamins and minerals

roughly 750-1000 grams of protien a day(cycles based on carbs), carbs go from anywhere between 200 and 600, fat is pretty constant at about 60-70 grams a day
lots of green tea and water

I know it aint pretty, but it works..:)

let's see some more...and stats....whats the deal with all this low carb shit?? AM I the only idiot trying to put on weight this Spring/summer?

First I ride my bike for 20 minutes then

I don't plan my meals out but over the course of a day i'll eat 4-6 chicken breast's,couple bowls special k with skim milk, some steamed broccolli, lot's of unsalted cashew's,that's basically it,i can eat the same thing day after day for year's. In the middle somewhere i'll usually eat a few slices of whole wheat bread also.

I tell you what I eat during a bulker? I eat junk and lots of it. Probably not the best way to advertise getting big. You think the Pros ever got big off eating clean? I seriously think not. Im telling you those guys seriously have their fair share of fast foods. Just so damn hard to get the calories in eating clean, I get sick of it.
Although I might preach eating clean is the way to go, people in the know will know to get big you need food and lots of it.

Given that we are talking about diet accompanied by AAS, I can still eat fast food as much as I want and still stay relatively lean to speak. Thats why I'd advocate tren in a bulker aswell as a cutter. Eat as much as you want and still stay lean, use the AAS to your advantage is what I say.

Cutter is a different story, there you have to be strict. Even then I find myself eating junk once in awhile.

LMAO @ guys on cycles trying to focus on anything other than sex....

Well, it looks like some of you are trying... :) Remember the sauce is nothing but a SUPPLEMENT to an already well-established & consistent diet & training program. If you don't eat for what you are trying to accomplish, you won't accomplish it.

(Don't you hate when some bossy chick comes in and starts preaching to you? :qt: )

What do you include in your supps list for detox & body support while you pound your systems w/ high protein diets & exogenous hormones?

yall seem to eat a lot more protein and fewer carbs. Any reason? not being an ass, i'm just curious. Because my I'm about 175lbs and get about 275g. prot. 80-90g. fat 550-600g. carbs. Bulking obviously, about 4400 cals a day. But when on cycle and trying to gain, do yall eat more carbs? I'm not on a cycle and don't plan to, i'm just curious.

Most of the articles you read in the magazines that list pro bodybuilders as having really strict diets aren't even written by the bodybuilders themselves. 3 or 4 years ago Lee Priest did an instore signing at Supplement City here in CT. He was eating McDonald's before the store opened and asked for a garbage can to throw his bag in. Afterwards the owners took him to a restaurant and they said he ate everything in site. Can't speak for all bodybuilders but a lot of them put on a lot of muscle and fat between contests. From an article:

I've said this before, and I will say it again, you cannot get a highly competitive physique and maintain your abs all year long! It doesn’t work that way. And unfortunately, the majority of today’s magazines make this out to be the case.
The quickest way to gain mass is to eat, like you have never eaten before, and ask questions latter! If you have ever been to Venice Beach, you will understand exactly what I am talking about. Bodybuilders are absolute tanks in the off season!

I’m not sure how many of you are familiar with Ian Harrison, but he is actually one of the founders of the massive physiques you see on stage today. He is one of the first athletes to bulk up to over 320 pounds on a consistent basis, and as far as pure size is concerned, he was right up there with Yates, Rhul, and Nasser. Ian has stated that he literally doesn’t care what he looks like in the off season, as long as he’s gaining size. In fact he has been quoted with eating three liters of ice cream a day while bulking. Literally, as long as he doesn’t throw it up, he will eat it!

And even then he may force feed it. During a seminar he told a very inspiring story. He ate 30 desiccated liver tablets, felt sick and threw them up. They went flying across the room. What did he do? Casually rinsed them off, and re-downed them, because he knew that was what it would take for him to get the physique he wanted. Ian has a difficult time gaining weight, so he did what it took to gain it!

“ If you want to be one of the big boys, you can't just say eat when you are hungry. Or I'll just eat this, or I'm full, I can't eat that. You've got to just eat it. You're not eating cause you like it, you're eating to grow! If you have to force feed yourself, then do it! When I stopped competing it took me months to regain my appetite. I mean since I was 15 I force fed myself constantly, and you get to hate the idea of eating. But that’s what it took“

It’s a fact that bodybuilders do not stay within 5-10 pounds of their contest shape, not if they are one of the monsters up there. Ian has an extremely insane regimen, in which he eats anything he can get his hands on all day, and essentially just makes sure that he gets 50 grams of protein in him every two hours to keep his amino acid intake up.

Lee Priest is the same way, in one interview he stated that he had lost, something like 300 pounds over the last three years! That’s insane! But do you think he could have developed a physique that freaky by staying lean all year long? Absolutely not! If you have ever seen his videos, you know that Lee feasts on Kentucky Fried Chicken, and other tasty food sources in the off season. One of my favorite quotes from him during a contest was this:

Just three more days, and no more chicken and rice. Actually I will eat chicken, but it will be Kentucky, and I will have rice, but it’ll be fried. “

Lee’s got a good sense of humor. Another story that comes to mind is Mike Mattarazzos off season shakes! Here is a quote from the man with the freakiest arms of all time!

If I couldn't finish a meal during the day, I would put a cup and a half of apple juice in the blender -- and this is the honest-to-God truth -- and throw steaks, fish, whatever I couldn't chew, into the blender. Then I would hold my nose and suck it down. That's a fact. Many times I puked that stuff back up, but it did the job….If you have been working hard in the gym, but you're not making the gains you want, there's one very simple reason: You're not eating enough.

As you have also noticed and heard, many bodybuilders eat junk food in the off season, because it is impossible to stay clean and get the amount of calories needed for these mammoths to gain size! Some of the most hardcore athletes in the world will actually bring their fast food meals with them to the gym so that they continue to stay in a state of anabolism! That’s no joke, its what they do to obtain freaky big size( you can’t pick that up in a text book)!

Junk food is so calorie dense, that if you maintain a high protein intake you can gain quite a bit of muscle mass off the stuff. Take the Austrian Oak for example. When he went in the military, all they had was junk food. However, he had to eat, or he couldn’t continue to grow. He rolled up his sleeves and ate as much of these foods as possible, and ended up putting on about 40 pounds! More than he had ever gained!

Am I telling you to go out and start eating junk food? No and no wise although you may advance to a point in which it is necessary). What I am telling you, is that you are going to have to eat like you want to be freaky, or you will never be freaky! If you can’t finish your meal, tuff! Rest pause for 5 minutes and force it down. There is no excuse for not gaining mass, you just need to do what it takes to gain it!

You want "me" to grow up????????

You are looking High and low for a drug or a diet (once again) that will let you live at the Golden Arches and still get yourself into at least "decent" shape.

You keep posting untill you find this magic diet, but you won't, cause you need to have the BALLS to eat what you know you should eat, instead of looking for "someone" that eats like shit and looks good.

Don't EVER create a thread asking for opinions and feedback as to what people eat, only to critique them afterward..............

YOU GROW UP

You have any other problems, - you can take them to my PM - Dinero

I went on to the current diet from a cutting diet. I actually started at 2800cals and slowly worked up to the 4200. It consisted of the same exact foods, but just a lot less portions.

Sorry this got out of hand, but it did. It was a post to give people ideas on good clean foods. Then I got asked for a critique by many, which I never gave. All I said was this was a ERA where many many bbs mass gain in a 90% clean cal diet. PERIOD. At least the ones I see training. Granted, some still pork out, but the 80lb bulk is over, for the most part. Its simple to increase cals cleanly. Dont make it hard. 2 tb of pb is 200 cals....u could eat a whole jar. Peanuts are simple to put down and milk, milk is huge. Even oats dry with milk or in a shake....2-3 cups a meal. Rice? Ground beef....the list is endless. Keep veggies to a minimum and fiber as low as possible to still get your healthy amount in.

OK boys.....critique away.....

Can I post my diet one last time. Hopefully no flames and I promise I'll change whatever you guys say. I'm only up 6lbs from the start, but need the weight and need it clean....

20-30 almonds, peanuts, etc.

6'2, 180 and 9-10% bf (climbing)

still junk?

OH....and weekends are ALL FREE GAME!

As an endo-ecto I dont worry much about what the pros eat.. give me 20iu's GH ED and 5gs of tren a week and maybe I'll try another carb-heavy bulker but until then, nope.

right now, 400g's protien ED, about 3000k cals ed, mostly meat, whey, cheese & lots and lots of greens. about 60/30/10 pro/fat/carb

Personally, I'd never go low/no carb.....too important to training....on the weekends, I might only get in 100-150 a day, but during the week it's always 200+.......keep it clean and you are golden.

What do you think of the CKD and training? CKD and cycling?

I'm cutting right now. I'm a full time student, work part time, and have no car to get to and from home so it is hard to cook. But this is working excellent for me

-1 footlong Subway sandwich a day-no mayo, no cheese, on wheat bread
-1 packet of oatmeal, plain
-12 cups of milk
-2 protein drinks a day

comes out to 2 k cals, and about 220 g protein. doing cardio 5 x a week and cycling clen 2 weeks on, 2 wks off. Running test e and tren a.

Is that the Jared diet???

You could cut much cleaner and with better results bro......just a little clean up

My bulker:
1.4-6 boiled eggs w/thomas english muffins (x 2) juice etc..
2.large salad (loaded with beans-dry tuna-chix etc..)
3.p shake-or sandwich (turkey on bagel ex.)
4.snack (Protein bar usually zone or pure pro. etc..)
5.dinner (complete meal)
6.shake (loaded with anpb - flax - fruit) anythng else i can find.
Lots of water!

I've been able to maintain and keep the fat at bay with this so far.

Just finished a bowl of South Beach cereal and an egg-white omlette with FF Mozz. finished it off with 2tbs Udos.

2 cans low-sodium tuna/ 3/4-cup whole grain pasta/1 Tbs Miracle Whip

mix together - shovel in my big-fat mouth.

Most of the day I make great use of the blender.

I can throw 2 packets protein powder/3/4 cup old fashioned oats/2 tbs flax seeds - mix - drink.

If you're going to get big, or learn to eat like a pro - you need to give your body what it needs, and some people who are new to this, just can't "stomach" the taste of some things.

Don't get me wrong - I LOVE a tasty meal - but my BB diet isn't about taste - it's about what my body needs, and you just have to put the taste buds on hold.

I'd eat DIRT if it would help my gains........

cutting or bulking? or it doesnt matter??

Thats the one meal I keep constant whether I'm bulking or cutting. Every other meal I add or subtract depending on goals.

I believe this is where im going wrong..in the PWO nutrion department....I usually do 50g whey/ probably under 50g dextrose...but no oats..

I agree with tzan. I mix a scoop of Champion Heavyweight 900 Weight Gainer powder with a scoop and a half of Ultramet chocolate meal replacement powder RIGHT after every workout, regardless of whether it's a lifting workout or a cardio workout. It gives me around 75 grams of fast absorbing carbs with 40-50 grams of whey protein. Whether you are trying to bulk or whether you are trying to cut, it just doesn't make any sense to kill yourself in the gym only to reward yourself with a no-carb protein shake after the workout. If you are on a low carb diet, you should take as many carbs as you can for your daily intake right after your workout. Post-Workout recovery supplementation is just as important or more important than every other meal of the day. That's my two cents on this.....

imho - it's overrated......you need a balance the entire day........

You're alone on this one..............post workout is nothing short of CRITICAL.

Rice Cakes won't cut it.

tzan, I like your diet.... looks alot like mine...and I add / subtract as needed (portion-wise) depending on whether I'm cutting or bulking...

My question: Is it a good idea to have some sort of fat first thing upon waking up with your morning meal? I was thinking no, for the same reason you don't want to drink milk and that's because it slows down digestion of the protein and carbs that the body is starving for at that point.... I've seen morning meals with and without fats.... correct me if I'm wrong?

Here is my diet for most of the year:

Upon waking up:
8 egg whites
1/2 cup oatmeal
banana

mid-morning snack
1/3 CFM protein
1/3 IPI protein
1/3 EFA powder
Lactaid
total of about 55 g. protein

Lunch
Some sort of turkey chef salad - olive oil & vinegar
-or-
Turkey sandwhich on whole wheat - mustard only
Always have some sort of vegetable soup
Soy chips

Mid-afternoon snack
Muscle Milk or similar protein shake which has EFA's or MCT's

Pre-workout
gatorade + creatine (when not on AAS)
some sort of snack bar (when on)

Post-workout
Big Blast shake (contains dextrose + high quality proteins + whole egg + creatine)

dinner
chicken breast or turkey burgers or lean steak
salad
sweet potatoe or brown rice

bedtime
shake with IPI protein (slow-digesting) + water + flax oil
sometimes peanut butter or cottage cheese

My stats:
31 yrs old
175 lbs
~12-15% body fat at the moment - spring cutter to begin soon

What moe do you want?

You got a ton of responses, and now you have to bump this "dead" thread.

ok..you dont need to post anymore...

I really don't need your permission to not post.

I'll post whatever/wherever (even in this DEAD thread)

JKurz if you are hunfgry and bulking why would you stop yourself eating in the night, sounds to nme like you have major issues with food. FFS you are ripped are'nt you? You want to put on size - then surely eat and definitely eat if you have a craving. I wish I was as lean as you are and could use that oppurtunity to bulk

How's your training going JKurz? The main function of a high calorie diet offseason is to keep your muscles full and hydrated to get you stronger which in turn gets you bigger. Bench, squat and deadlift going up 5-10 pounds every couple weeks? Good way to judge how effective your diet is. Strength increases usually goes hand in hand with bigger muscles provided there's a surplus of calories.
