The coach of the 7th grade football team has asked my daughter to be on the B team.

He said that she can throw better than their B team quarterback. This doesn't surprise me, her mother had an arm better than many men and I was a very good pitcher. She wants to play, but don't think I'm gonna let her. She's strong enough, but I don't want her to get the shit knocked out of her. I'd be risking a heart attack each and every game.

agreed i don't think it would be worth it, plus she might get a bad wrap for it from the other kids

Being the quarterback of the 7th grade football team is the first step to becoming a bull dyke. You are right to be concerned.

She'll never be mistaken for that, way too beautiful. She has enough confidence that she is not concerned what other's think. I just know how rough the game is because I played for many years. She could get away with playing this year because girls mature faster than boys, a couple more years and they would hurt her.

I know your flow bro..

Mine is petite(short) for 13 and when she goes up against these huge amazon
girls as a defender in Soccer they tower over her, and yet she keeps at it.

I cringe when she get trampled or run over and LOL when she gets up and goes right back after them..

let her do it, she'll meet lots of guys and have a great sex life

lol ;)

LMFAO

If you know she won`t get really hurt, I say let her do it.

#1 it`s a reward for her to be on the team because of her ability and you`ll be shortvchanging her if you don`t.

#2 It will be a great experience for her to play with relatively better kids than herself. She won`t get too many opportunities like that again.

#3 She can always put that on her "resume" sorta thing. "I played on the boys team" Colleges will like that, especially if she`s going for a sports scholarship of ANY kind.

and she gets to put her hands up some boys bent over crotch dozens of times a night.. She'll love that..

I would NOT let my daughter get on the football team, as punter or QB. Guys have this macho attitude, and go out to smash any female who gets on the field.
Does she play any other sports? Right now mine does soccer, basketball, and volleyball

bro let her play, you wont have to worry about her playing in high school as there is no way in hell a girl will be QB in a highschool team, politics wont allow it. and for now you said shes big enough to handle it,plus qb's hardly get hit .

Have her put her hair up so they don't know she's a girl, throw some dirt on her face, and put some smudge under her eyes and have it. Say she throws and interception, and the would be TD returning CB tries a deek move. While in mid deek he gets laid the fuck out by your little girl and fumbles. Think of the pride.

Let her at least try it if she wants to. She can always quit if it isn't for her. Let her give it a go at softball as well. Would most likely be an awesome outfielder or pitcher.

Wow! you have an interesting family. The daughter is a beautiful athletic girl that can play on the the football team. And, the dad is homely effeninate guy that was on the cheerleader squad.

Hah....that would have been fun to let a girl have it.
you talking about ball games, arent you?

shit, i mean...

youre talking about getting her on the ground, right?

shit, fubared that one up too

youre talking about jumping all over the girl, trying to get her to submit, right?

dammit! this is too hard. y'all know what i mean, anyway ;)

biteme, LET HER PLAY!

if you tell her you don't want her to, it's going to kill her confidence.

if you encourage her, however, think about the boost that's going to give her pride and confidence. how many girls can say they played football in junior high? ok, she will probably get laid out a few times. it happens.

you be there after every game to tell her how proud of her you are. encourage her the entire way.

if she wants to do this, you have to let her. don't say no to her. this might be a dream come true for her. let her have this dream.

biteme i hate it when you ignore me :D

LOL. She's the one that told me to post it. I had told her that I made a post for her and she said to tell everyone about the 7th grade coach asking her to play football. She's proud of it. Now I certainly can't let her read this thread. :)

lol @ bull dyke.

That B team quarterback must be a wicked sissy. No offense to your daughter.

She's every bit feminine but very tough. I was boxing with her the other day. Of course I just tap her on the arms, she was sneaking some vicious body blows in on me. She begged me to box some more with her last night, but I declined. I can't hit her hard, but she doesn't think she can hurt me, so she lets them fly.

just put GD on ignore and let her read it, that way she can't see all his "tackling your daughter" comments.

hell, no reason to take him off the ignore list either. i mean, you're not missing much out of him.

j/k GD. :D

We'll have to have a talk about it. I want to make sure that she knows what she would be getting herself into.

Show her some of those great slow-motion clips NFL films puts out of quarterbacks getting blindsided by pass rushers. If she still wants to play after seeing that, then she deserves a chance.

good idea, but don't bring it up negativly. i'm tellin ya, if you talk her out of this, she could end up resenting you.

ya never know though, she could get through one week of practice and say fuck it, this hurts too much. or she could be coming home and saying "damn dad! look at this bruise! it's nothing though. you should've seen how hard i took down this guy today...."

at least her wanting to play football is something that's good for her to do with her time, even if it has you a little worried. i think you'd much rather deal with this than have her come home and say, "dad, i want to make a doctor's appointment so i can get on the pill." :worried:

In HS I played a little football and a lot of ice hockey... last time I checked I was not a bull dyke.

Let her give it a shot and make the decision for herself. Sure, it'll be hard to watch her take a hit (if it ever comes to that), but that's part of being a parent. You can't protect her forever. She can only take it so far, but let her try it while she has the opportunity. :)
