the "bomb" jokes..not funny today

My Dad's unit in Mosul was the one attacked this morning. Members of his 133rd Engineering Unit were in the dining hall at the time of the attack.

It's all fun and games..but sometimes there is a serious context where the joke is lost.

Just remember, some people are being buried this weekend instead of celebrating Christmas with their family.

sorry to hear that bro, but don't be one of those people. someone making a joke about a karma bomb has NOTHING to do with any soldiers or wars, so just focus your energy on things that matter. I hope your father is okay.

Mosul was the resting point for the group. They were eating in the dining hall when shit started falling on them. They've been on the Iranian border doing some stuff and came back to Mosul for a rest.

Second time they've been attacked. Last time, the only casulty was a row of outhouses.

This time, several deaths and many injuries.

Sad thing, a huge party was thrown on Saturday for their families. All the kids received Christmas gifts and taped messages for their family in Iraq. Some of those messages will not be seen....

well, i know how you feel about the comments people make, Halliburton contacted my brother wanting him to go work on the bases in Iraq, i was upset about the fact of his possible leaving for there and someone makes the comment to me that i should let him go cuz " maybe you'll see him on tv and he'll be famous".

Yeah...and I'm pretty sarcastic at times..but this one was too close. I know too many people in that unit because they used to call my Dad's house all the time. My Dad is a Command Sargent Major in the unit.....and it's really bad there....worse than the pictures on tv showed.

I havent been here all that long but I think the EF members as a whole are good hearted (no ofence to anyone) glad to hear your dad is okay.
