The only sane people in the movie, were the institutioned ones anyway.

Even though it's a marine movie, I would have picked jarhead for me.:)The last scene of the movie is very good...

Not so much, I make what I consider a decent living. However, I choose to live in an apartment and believe it or not I'm a minimalist. I wish I had a dime for every chick that considered me her "dream guy" and I responded...No white picket fence and suburban life for you. :)

Yeah, I'm not completely buying it.
Minimalist or not... we cannot escape the patterns that drive us, well we can, but its few and far between that actually do.
I do not want this to be a take a position, I affirm that U are something, that U are not. I mean for example, my grad thesis had a fight club overtone to it, blasting consumerism and lack of awarness, and narcissim being a subtle theme being pushed in this country. However, I did this on a macbook, most of the time drinking from Starbucks. When I wasn't typing, researching, I would work out to look good. My point is, I'm totally full of shit, like I'm being pawned by consumerism just as bad as teenage girl.

The whole message though, was lost that even escaping from consumerism, and not identifying with products, is still not the answer. Rather relatinoships and interconnection.
Peeps forget this or dont' realize this, I think.
Anyway, Java, U like being the alpha dude, prize male, perfectionist dude.
Not a bad thing... however, U do identify with it. I mean I would atleast.
While I think U agree with the movie's overall theme, I wouldn't associate U with living in a house like that and wanting to destroy credit card companies.
Bits and parts U may dig, however, would U really wanna be that destructive.
Also, U don't thing Progress is 'self' masturbation.
It seems to me anyway... and I could be way the fuck off.

Yeah, man. And here's something funny - their lead lyricist calls himself Vinny Paz. Vinny Pazienza is a semi famous and very funny former italian boxer from, you guessed it, Cranston Rhode Island. But JMT is from Philly.

I spent a lot of time going crazy in a slow manner. I directed a friend to watch the movie when he started asking questions.

He was commitred that and he disdained not having a purpose in his life. that was his life.
Not for or against. But fuck man.... its not cause he was weak. He just woud rather die than becoming a wasted life working at a factory.

I was a "true believer" back in the day...hardcore and teflon coated but reality will bitch slap you. A friend of mine rented the movie recently and said "Damn, that sucked." :)
