To all posters:
[this is nothing compared to the story banginplates posted a couple of days ago - congratulations, btw! - but I'll tell it anyway]
I've been lifting on and off for about 7 years, never specialized or took it too seriously. I've been relatively strong/fit/whatever, but never near my potential.
Anyway, about 2 months ago, I came across this site, and started reading posts. At first I thought to myself "wtf? chains? westside? rubber bands?!?" I haven't been posting, but I kept reading, went to the westside site, and thought I'd give some of what you've said a try. I started implementing some of the routines you've posted, and switched my focus from "general purpose" to strict power.
No lie, in 2 months my bench is up30 lbs. over my all-time max, and my squat is (I swear) up 50 lbs. Of course, part of it is me finally getting serious, but it would never have happened without all of your input. I feel better than I have in a long time, and I admit I'm pretty excited every time I go to the gym lately. I haven't started dragging tons of chains into the gym yet, but if I keep this up....
So, the point is to say thanks to all of you, and to let you know that what you post here can really help a lot.
Thanks again!
