Testosterone and Women...a caution

I am not getting down on woman using gear or even women using Test. It is an icredible anabolic IMO and in many cases is definitely appropriate. I have read all of the possible side and the one that is never covered is the emotional factor associated with its use.

I am a 42 year old female. I did my first very low dose test cycle (or it was supposed to be a cycle) two years ago. The type that I used was a blend so it should have been somewhat self tapering coming off. The end result is that I have been on low dose test ever since. I think perhaps my my levels were low prior to as my sex drive had become non existent so perhaps I should qualify this with "use in older women"

The end result has been that I have to supplement some form of testosterone or I become depressed and lethargic to the point of being non-functional. Also has my levels drop I am experiencing muscle twitches in virtually all of my muscles especially my eyelids.

I have never had difficulty coming off any other AAS, and have used var, dec and winny.

I don't know if I were to just tough it out and had the time to lie in bed until my hormones returned to normal if it would eventually level out or not. For now, I am stuck using gel or injectible (actually prefer the injectible as it is easier to keep consistent levels.

Anyway, just thought I would share that possible aspect of Test use.

Have you discussed this w/ a doctor at all? All the details about the transition from pre- to post-menopausal seem pretty fuzzy to me as far as all the various impacts to the hormonal system, the things you experience, etc. I guess part of my question is does your age have anything to do w/ it or is this just something to keep in mind w/ AAS use for women in general? What does your doc say?

Well, therein lies the problem with aas use. I do have a script from him for the gel so if I go in whining about how I can't get off of it he will say "why would you want to". I would like to hear from younger women who have used it and hear if they had any problems coming off.

Mostly likely it is my old age. The one thing that has changed with the test use is unbelievably heavy periods. I have to wear a super plus tampon and change every 30 minutes for the first two day and back it up with a pad. The first time it happened I thought I was bleeding to death but that is just how it is. My period is shorter in duration, though.

OMG. I have no experience w/ test, but I'm entering the "40-zone" soon. I can't say I've ever had a screaming sex drive, but then I haven't had much to pick from lately as motivation either (another story...). But the drive is there when I need it.

I dunno if I'd stay w/ a doc who gives me a non-answer like that "why would you want to".... I thought the point of a good doc was to ensure that your body works how its supposed to work w/o artificial help unless absolutely necessary.... Shit I'd at least get a 2nd opinion.....

I didn't say that right... he is a great doctor, but I went to him for testosterone for sex drive problems, he will think it odd if I now want to stop using it. There was no problem when I just used the gel, the problem came in when I started injecting it and doing doses cosistent with a cycle and not replacement. Now I have to use what would be considered a replacement dose as I don't think I am producing any natural test. Studies show that sex drive and test drop close to menopause so that may be my issue as much as anything

well....estrogen typically drops which makes the test effect "feel" greater to a lot of women

I used test a couple of years ago and got a bit carried away with it.Unfortunately the sides are delayed & it was too late to stop when they appeared. The bloat & extra acne went away with six weeks off the stuff but the facial hair is here to stay. I am very embarrassed by it but thank my lucky stars I am fair haired.I have learned to hide it quite well but am thinking of looking into laser removal.

I find deca, winstrol, primo more agreeable but at the end of the day it was the doseage of the test I was using that did the real damage. My voice has also been affected - it's always been quite low but its really low now.

I wish I had been more sensible!
