ANYONE SERIOUSLY INTERESTED in creating an online advocacy group for testing commercial supplements PLEASE email me. I am a software developer and am offering the internet hosting, programming and design for an online 'consumer reports' for supplements.

I will provide the domain registration and backend. I am willing to work with other developers.

I am offering my skills at no charge to this group... we need some knowledgeable bros that can actually do testing and understand WHAT they are doing to donate as well. People who can supply organization and management skills, editing and writing abilities will be needed; along with resourceful people that can GET popular products for the group to test on a consistent basis.

We could offer this to the community in a short time and be privately funded.

This doesn't seem very practical. There are simply too many variables in the results obtained from the use of a particular substance. You would need to do controled double blind studies among people of equal genetics and training experience living under similar conditions and eating the same diet.

Trying to do it the way you suggest will leave too much to the individuals interpretation and there's no way of knowing how objective that individual is going to be. You'll just wind up with a hundred different opinions -- half of which will be wrong.

Why do you think companies that sell snake oil coninue to thrive?

Nelson, I believe he was referring to doing lab testing, not people-testing. There are several of us working on this right now. Not just for AAS, but for OTC Supps, as well.

B; Okay, that wasn't clear. If so, my mistake. I'd be interested in your findings.

Nelson, I'll keep you posted. My biggest dilemma has been that everyone rants and raves, "We need testing done!". But, as soon as someone steps up to the plate and offers all the gear as well as all the funds, no one steps up to test. I cannot tell you the number of unreturned e-mails I have on this subject to people who complain that they can test anything, the just don't have the gear or the money to fund it. Once I get some stable, legitimate testing sources, then I can start getting some results.

I'm interested in helping out. PM or email me and well discuss the issue further.

Nelson Montana, I think we need to keep in mind that a distinction exists between "consumer report" type testing and assesment and clinical physiological testing. Take for example Fonz's ALA, r-ALA testing. Although I think his test was poorly designed by any standards, in theory it could have made for a great consumer test.
