Test/tren/winny calorie deficit but making gains!?

What's up fam, so I'm in about week 9 of my test tren cycle and starting week 2 of winny.

Been eating at a 5-700 kcal deficit, everything besides green veggies is weighed and portioned for a total of 2200-2350 cals/day

At the start I was consistently loosing weight at a good pace, from 215 pounds down to 198 was my lowest point.

Over the past 2 weeks things have changed! I actually increased my cardio by 10 min a day (45 min total), dropped my carbs from 175 to 110 grams and my fats and protein stayed consistent. Since then I have actually gained about 4 pounds back and continued to look tighter and leaner (I think) haha! The changes are subtle but my belt is tighter each week and my abs are becoming more and more pronounced!

It's playing with my mind though because I don't understand what is happening... At that much of a deficit I would find it incredibly hard to believe I was building muscle still... My protein is stacked up to 330 grams a day but stil, physically even with all the gear this would be pretty rare and it never happened on my last tren cut!

Has anyone else experienced this before? Is it the addition of the winny? Should I continue to do what I'm doing or even take advantage of it and try increasing my calories!? I'm kind of confused where to go from here because I was planning to start a mass phase in a few weeks but I'm already gaining and getting stronger each week!

Please chime in if you've had this happen to you or have any suggestions of the next step I should take or any changes I should make to diet/training etc...

Thanks!!! P.S. Sorry if this should have been in the diet section I wasn't sure which one was best

You gain FAT on a caloric surplus and burn FAT on a caloric deficit. You can most definetly build muscle in a caloric deficit. It is not optimal but you will make gains, especially with gear. I started lifting at 16 years old. At the time i was running long distance on varsity track in highschool. Thats at least 3 hours of intense cardio a day at practice, burning calories. I was also taking preworkouts everyday, burning calories. Lifting, burning calories. I ate breakfast lunch dinner and one more meal, i wasn't sure how to tweak my diet because i was still new to lifting so i mainly ate meat eggs and tuna, low carbs low fat. The amount i was eating was nowhere near as much as i was burning a day. I went from 5'9' 120lbs lean to 5'9' 135lbs in one year and got down to 5% body fat towards the end. When you're body fat is that low you can literally see the muscle you are building in front of your eyes. You're body is designed to adapt to whatever stress you put it under. If you workout you will build muscle. If your diet is not up to par your body will use its own nutrients to repair muscle tissue. This is not necessarily good for you and is how people get injured but it is a fact. If you read this whole thing you'll have a better understanding. As for what to do with your calories i'd say up them if you want to build more muscle but you seem to be ecstatic about the progress you're making.

Thanks for the response man, I see so many people claiming that unless you are new to lifting or have a perfect calorie/carb cycle set up it is physiologically not possible to build muscle whilst burning fat... But as this seems to be the case I will judge stricter with progress pics every 3 or 4 days and really use the mirror and not the scale to see where I'm at! I would be more than happy to keep building and getting leaner... But I do miss my carbs hahaha be nice to shovel a bit more grub down the ol' pie hole! Thanks again though man, appreciate it... And yes I should have said loosing FAT at a consistent rate not weight, I do understand the difference

You burn tissue as energy in a deficit, its not just muscle or fat its a combination.

What you have to realise is when you eat you are anabolic for a while and able to gain muscle and fat. When you're fasted your body is using tissue as energy. If you gain more muscle than fat when temporarily in an anbolic state and more fat when in a catabolic state you can gain muscle in a deficit. Steroids are going to make this very possible esp if you are using things like clen on top

Ahhh makes sense, would it be beneficial to eat closer to maintenance in that case? Considering ill still be in a fasted (deficit) state for my morning cardio then I lift after my first meal and so on so forth... Is it optimal for me to get more calories while my body is able to utilize them and then use the morning cardio to burn fat..... Sorry if that doesn't make sense I am just mainly trying to decide if I should slash calories even lower for these last couple weeks to really peel out or raise them and build some more gains but stretch it out a bit longer to get to an identical bf% (hoping to finish up around 8% before I cruise)

If your hoping up to finish around 8% then your diet should reflect that. I am a big believer in peri nutrition, pre intra and post as i feel your body is best able to use calories as glut4 is up regulated and i also use slin prewo so this adds to the effect around training

Alright, thanks again buddy. I'll keep as is, as the results I want are still on going. May cut my cottage cheese/Greek yogurt bedtime snack out and see if I don't dry up a bit without the dairy but ya.

Off topic bro but how do you find slin? Been thinkin about hittin a couple ticks on my weak body part days... Was my opinion to wait until I'm heavier and the AAS aren't gettin me where I want to be... But definitely an interest to me. My buddy hits it, and his pump is absolutely insane during training hahaha makes me curious. You find its worth it? Better for growth over leaning up? Good for both?
