Terror bomb blast kills australians in Bali

I know a girl in Perth, one of her friends was badly injured, 3rd degree burns.

Australia has been helping america, so they retaliate against australia.

these people are a bunch of animals. if large factions of my religion were intent on blowing themselves up and others as well, it would be time for me to seriously question my beliefs.

define 'large'? shouldnt they be your beliefs....

but yes.....the lack of internal condemnation (and not just public condenation) of these attacks or this mentality is what bugs me the most and confirms to me that islam needs to revert back to its pre 20th century roots or something. you cant condemn every single muslim for the actions of what are still a minority, but for their lack of condentaion for it.

i'm getting rather sick of people saying these extremists are 'just the minority.' you act as if several million psychopaths are just a handful of 'bad guys.' maybe so in the US, but not abroad. have you people missed the countless calls for jihad from top clerics in iran, iraq, saudi arabia, etc? if anything happens to them, they consider it an 'assualt on islam' and start to make threats of civil unrest and other attacks. are you not familiar with the palestinian maxim, "no jews between us and the sea."

danielson, are you not even paying attention to what is happening in your own country? did you not hear about the LARGE gathering of militant muslims in britain, calling for muslims to overthrow of your government and to turn it into a muslim state? from what i've been reading, you guys are having quite a bit of problems with the sudden influx of these people.

my point is, if a bunch of my religious leaders were calling on me to go blow myself up, fly planes into buildings, and murder people at random, i would start seriously questioning the religion.

im sceptical at what the media reports.....yes there are lots of demonsrations going on and people dancong in the streets when some attacks happen. but then it is a minoritymaking a lot of noise. on sep-11 there were far greater numbers of people in iran ALONE who held a 24hr candlelight vigil for those who died. yet 50 or so people in palestine were chosen to be shown, the huge number of people who turned up in iran ignored

as for how many of them accept whats happening and dont care or refuse to condemn it publically, privately and among other muslims.....i suspect the numbers there are much higher. whehter or not the majority....my brain says no, my gut says yet. but maybe thats just the effect of the media bombardment on me. Asfor the muslim world being 'tetchy'....yes they are. some of it is justified given what the western world has done to them, when they were essentially unprovoked....lots of people died out there. but yes i do acknowledge too many things over there result in fuss and botherbeing made, and the fact that their religon prohibits the support of non muslim states in miltary action against islmaic states is idiotic in my view when u;ve got dudes like saddam around

as for my particluar country....yes it does worry me. u also realise the same thing is going on in your country. and every country there are large numbers of muslims. yes, it does worry me. yes it also worries me their numbers are so high. yes in the back of my mind im fearing a lot of civil unrest, and also wishiong the goverment would stopposturing so much about immigration and actually do something substabntive whether it be relaxing laws or tightnening them

i wouldnt convert for that and other reasons, but im saying so what if somone elses beliefs said go and do those things. its what the indvidual says that counts. yes islam does actually say there willbe a war between believers and nonbelievers. but not all of them think its comng within our lifetimes, not ll of them suscribe to the war rhetoric

and ultimately are we any better? we're sanctioning war in iraq when everyone from the UN to their weapons inspectors are saying its not entirely necessary. our governments have stripped us of our rights, slowly errode at our autoniminty and have waged secret wars on 'our' behalf for the beck and call of industry killing so many innocents, and we still suscribe to the fct our country is a democracy?

the fucked up thing is that chick "sexkittencandy" from Triedia is in Bali vacationing right now! She is from Australia too. Hope she did not get smoked too. :(

We need to have another Crusade. Only this time, lets do it right.

SCK is vacationing in Bali, no shit?!??? I hope she is alright, dammit. I know several friends who have recently come back from Bali or who were about to go.

Over 200 Australians are still unaccounted for - and it's been 2 days now since the attack.

Damn shit - OVER 200!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It llooks like Australians have become fair game for terrorists bastards.

sunchild (majorly pissed off)

This has nothing to do with Australians being targets. Everyone is fair game. It doesn't matter where you're from or where you live. The animals killed many of the their own people in the WTC bombing. They don't care.

Indonesia is a hotbed for Muslim extremists. Going to an island resort where there would be a high percentage of foreigners on vacation proves that everyone is fair game.

There is quite a theory going in the media here that this is in fact about East TImor - not Islamists, as the main Islamic terror group in Indonesia has denied responsibility.

Australia was quite proactive in getting Indonesia the fuck out of East Timor. Maybe some esxreme nationalist group are up to something?

Plus there are internal tensions there between Hindus and Muslims. Bali is Hindu - this will KILL Bali's tourist industry. Not necessarily Al Quaeda....

This has nothing to do with Australians. Nobody gives a fuck about Australia. Most of the people killed were Indonesians. This is an internal thing, there are extremist groups in Indonesia who are very anti-government.
If Australia is indeed supporting the U.S...please don't, we don't need your help, I mean it!!!! For god's sake people the country used to be a prison colony!! A completely useless race of people!

My bad!! But the post was Australians killed in terror blast! What about the 150 Indonesians killed?? Surely they mean something!! I am sorry if I offended Australians!

I feel I have to respond to this:

Ffactor: I'm going to cut you some slack and ignore you insults to all Australians.

Let's just stick to the issue. When the US embassies in Africa were bombed in the 1990's hundreds of Africans and comparatively few Americans were actually killed. Still, these attacks were aimed against America with complete contempt against all the other innocent bystanders who were also killed.

When the Sari nightclub was bombed on Saturday this attack was not aimed against Indonesia in general. It was aimed at the international travellers who were visiting that club, again with complete contempt for all innocent bystanders. Many of those international travellers were Australians, so this attack was aimed against Australia as well as all the other nations represented.

As for Australians supporting the US in the war against terror. I am sure the US government and Us military commanders don't think of Australians as a useless race. The SAS contingent serving in Aghanistan recently received honors from the US military (I think it was a Brown Star) for their bravery in combat.

Since WWII Australia has supported the US militarily in every campaign where support was requested.

I apologize for my momentary lapse of reason but I still don't see why this was an attack against Australians and not everyone!!

how many aussies were killed? They are saying 33 brits (which to put it into perspective is more than was ever killed in any single IRA terrorist attrocity)

You stupid motherfucker.

The attack in Bali was in no way 'an internal thing' if you bothered to read even the most simple of newsgrabs you would have absorbed this.

Once again, apologizing for my momentary lapse of reason but how is this an attack against Australia and not against EVERYONE if indeed this was an attack against foreigners. What could be achieved by attacking Australia?
