tendonitis...what to do

I have a mild case of tendonitis in my left elbow. It only hurts when I do tricep work-outs otherwise its fine. Any suggestions what I can do about it. I wear a wrap when I work-out but wanted to know if there was anything else.thanks in advance.

Give it time and work around it, or it will be with you a long time, Deca of course will help.

Also (have the same problem) when you say wrap, do you mean an elbow support? Because they help a lot.

Your muscle grows faster than your tendons, ligaments and joints. And that often how this happens.

your best bet is to take a few weeks off from doing tri's, it won't get better if you still do tri's, been there done it, go see a doctor tell him you got tendonitis, he'll give you sone inflamation meds. let it heal properly, tendonitis doesn't go away over night.

I have had tendonitis for years, I have rested it but it comes back if I start putting any stress on it directly like tricep work-outs....i guess i'll stick to low weights for tri's then.

Let it rest to relieve the swelling. afterwards, and I cannot emphasize this enough, you need to STRETCH your triceps, chest, lats and biceps. Deep tissue massage or a few ART therapy sessions may also really help this problem from coming back. Tendonitis or mostly any other "itis" for that matter is a repetitve stress problem stemming from altered joint kinematics. the joints get altered into a less than optimal movement patter from strength and flexibility discrepancies in the two opposing muscles that exert an effect on the joint.
It may be very slight but it is liken to water dripping on stone, let it drip long enough and the stone WILL erode.
The key is to keep the body very balance between the antagonistic muscles through flexibility, proper form, proper balanced training and strong proprioceptive development.

good luck my friend :coffee:

oh and try this while you are rehabbing the elbow during your heavier sets. Best neoprene brance i know of(tommy Kono elbow sleeves are amazing)

i had i too in my rt elbow
take some time off from tris and go get yourself a tennis elbow brace
i used this brace and it made all the differnece in the world
i bought it at moddels, its basically a wrap that has a gel pad whitch you position on the tendon on the inner part of forearm it takes the stess of of the tendon where it is damaged and causing pain
i also found that deep massages to the tendon witch is sore around the elbow area helped alot
ik now longer have it or used the wrap, that was years ago
time off is a good thing though
good luck bro
