tendonitis...what to do

i would not use nsaids (anti inflammatory drugs like aspirin) but i would use DMSO on it directly once a day. Deca helps also.
give it a months rest with some of that treatment

Rest is the best bro ... tendonitis is tricky.

Once thbe tendon becomes inflammed it rubs on the outercasing of the tendon continuing the inflammatory response, and its goes in circles again and again.

As you rest it, inflammation will subside, but dont get too hurried, let it get back to 100% and youll be perfectly okay ... let it get 80% better and youll still be in pain and restartt the viscious cycle.

Let it rest to relieve the swelling. afterwards, and I cannot emphasize this enough, you need to STRETCH your triceps, chest, lats and biceps. Deep tissue massage or a few ART therapy sessions may also really help this problem from coming back. Tendonitis or mostly any other "itis" for that matter is a repetitve stress problem stemming from altered joint kinematics. the joints get altered into a less than optimal movement patter from strength and flexibility discrepancies in the two opposing muscles that exert an effect on the joint.
It may be very slight but it is liken to water dripping on stone, let it drip long enough and the stone WILL erode.
The key is to keep the body very balance between the antagonistic muscles through flexibility, proper form, proper balanced training and strong proprioceptive development.

good luck my friend :coffee:

oh and try this while you are rehabbing the elbow during your heavier sets. Best neoprene brance i know of(tommy Kono elbow sleeves are amazing)

I agree. also try icing at least once a day for 20-30 minutes as a preemptive anti- inflamation treatment.

The use of anti-inflamatories will actuall prolong healing and set yourself up for additional injuries if lifting is not postponed while taking them.

Check into prolotherapy.
