Tendonitis in forearms

lately i've been getting this shooting pain in my forearms. its mostly just below my wrists, and it feels like its coming from the around the bone. im not sure if its Tendonitis or something else. im not sure exactly what Tendonitis is supposed to feel like. but the pain i get is from when i release the weights during exercises. for example, if im doing lateral raises, i dont feel the pain when im lifting up, but when i come down the pain is pretty intense.

has this happened to anyone else?

It happens to most everyone who grips everything and never opens anything. When was the last time you worked the muscles that open your hand? Probably never...try outer limit loops from ironmind.com

OMG...Bfold had some of those and I thought I'd just go ahead and do some pull ups with them. Well, I raised my feet and a split seond later my forearms were in crippling pain...never did get a pull up in. I was sore for weaks. They're brutal.

we had buckets filled with rice and I did that for a couple years, I am ordering some loops now for my friend who has to let the bar go so slow he is killing our workout tempo...lol

You've got tendonitis... it's very painful... but you can work through it.

thanks. thats what i thought. i've had this pain before, but its been a couple of years since i've had it. i just wanted to make sure what it was. the only things that have helped me in the past, are working my forearms, and also tapeing my wrists and forearms with ace bandages.

What has helped me with my knee tendonitis is that I started doing intense leg strengthening exercises and then when I got home, I applied ice for 30 minutes and then took a hot shower (or even better, went in a hot tubs if i had access to one). I rested my legs as much as possible untill my next leg day and hit them hard again. Eventually, the combination of strengthening and resting kicked in until now, when my pain is very minimal.

You could try doing something like this for your wrists. However, I dont know how succcessful you will be in getting rest since most excercises require a firm grip.

Anyway, hope this helps. peace.
