Ok ya'll:

With all the competitions in the air and on the forum, I thought, what the heck I can do that! I have a show in my area in 8 weeks and thought I could be ready by then. Here's the big question....

I have a medium sized tattoo on my lower back! This is the ONLY thing that is holding me back. I regret having it there not knowing if it is frowned upon.

Can I cover it up somehow with nude material sewn to my bathing suit? Or have a makeup artist work on it? Or just forget about the competition all together?

Thanks to Bunny for keeping me strong! :) You da' bomb! Or better yet, the HAWT Bomb! :)

Good question!!! I have three and will probably have to spend a lot on make-up (probably by a "hollywood movie" kind of foundation) to cover them up.

First off, congrats on considering the comp girl :D

I KNOW there are some cover up tips and tricks but do not give up b/c of your ink... I'm sure others who have competed will chime in, but I'll see what I can find other than Joe Blasco's line or some other theatrical makeup/cosmetics...

:rose:
Go for it!

Thanks so much Bunny! Honestly, that's the only thing that gets me down. I know I can work hard and look awesome, but to me I feel like I can't show it off because of it. I wish it were goooonnnnneeee!!!!

But, wouldn't sweating make the makeup run? Eeeek!

Don't certain 'cover up' cosmetics claim to be sweat free?? Like Dermablend?? Not sure, but you might want to check them out.....

Also, maybe go online to the society doing the show to see if they have rules, etc re: tattoos.....

the more conservative shows don't like them... So I just decide on how I feel about the comp... You don't want to feel that you placed lower than possible because of a tattoo... I usually cover mine up... Dermablend IS GREAT!! I went to mac the first few times and had them cover them up using these products that I purchased else where then they used some of theres to finish it... Dermablend has two products.. One is a foundation that goes on first then you can add in other stuff to get the colour exactly right... then the final part of the process is a powder that sets it in.. and it does a wonderful job... Yes you have to be careful when putting clothes on etc and it will get on stuff but it covers it nicely... Adventually I had my boyfriend at the time come into mac with me and watch and he from that point on was able to do it for me because mine are also on my back... So if he can do it, it can't be to hard....

Wow! Thanks Court! I see you have 2 on your back? And it totally covered it? Mine is bigger than yours, that's why I'm worried, bigger area to cover! :(

Yeah totally covered them and I did a couple of outdoor shows where I was VERY hot... AGAIN you have to be VERY careful though when you change you clothes etc... when I am doing a show I usually have one of my trainers back stage with me to help me change and to retouch anything that might be showing... its a little extra work but I think totally worth it... you dont want any doubt in your mind...

OMG! I checked out the Dermablend website! WOW!!!!

I SO can't believe it! Now, it says my nearest store is Jcpenney, did you get yours from a retail store or a dermatologist?

I'm so HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got it like at the bay or something like that.... just make sure you get the right colour match take into account that you are probably going to be darker for the show right with tanning etc... you want the colour to be as close to your skin as possible...
