Tapering down at end to avoid negative symptoms

I have read numerous times in numerous places that it is smart to taper off of anabolic steroids at the end of a cycle to avoid many psychological effects such as anxiety or depression or temporary acute psychosis. When you are jacked up on 100's of mg of testosterone and oxymethalone you have a euphoric feeling, and it is smart to taper down at the end of a cycle especially if you have a history of any type of psychological disorder. I have heard Doctors with bodybuilding experience compare the psychological effects of high levels of injected testosterone to the same psychological effects of abusing cocaine.

HERE'S MY PROBLEM: I HAVE HAD A STEADY 8 WEEK CYCLE, NOW I HAVE MONO.

At this point in the cycle, I have gone up to 2cc of Sustanon a week, and 75 mg of Oxymethalone everyday. I have been at this plateau for about 3 weeks now(which means I have about 600 mg of Sust, because it stays in my system for 3 weeks), and I was getting ready to taper down anyway. I have a PCT ready, but didn't plan to start it until after tapering down to 1 cc again and no oxymethalone.
The Cycle:

Week 1: 1/2 cc Sustanon
Week 2: 1 cc Sustanon
Week 3: 1 cc Sustanon
Week 4: 2 cc Sustanon
Week 5: 2 cc Sustanon and 25 mg of Oxymethalone a day
Week 6: 2 cc Sustanon and 50 mg of Oxymethalone a day
Week 7: 2 cc Sustanon and 50 mg of Oxymethalone a day
Week 8: 2 cc Sustanon and 75 mg of Oxymethalone a day
HERE I AM
Week 9: 2 cc Sustanon and 50 mg of Oxymethalone for 4, then 25 for 3 days
Week 10: 2 cc of Sustanon
Week 11: 1 cc Sustanon
Week 12: 1/2 cc Sustanon
--3 week break(let the body know Test is going down again)
3 weeks of Clomid

Now that I am in the house for a good 4 weeks because of the illness, and will not be able to workout at all, I think I should still taper down. The last 4 weeks of light use were to start toning my gains, to keep my appetite high, ease it to avoid psychological effects, and now my appetite is completely suppressed and I can barely type.
PLEASE TELL ME THE IMPORTANCE OF TAPERING DOWN IN YOUR OPINION, AND IF YOU STILL THINK I SHOULD. I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS NECESSARY BECAUSE I CANNOT EAT AS MUCH OR LIFT, BUT STAYING HOME AND DROPPING IT ALL COULD CAUSE SOME SERIOUS DEPRESSION MAYBE? Please, professional opinions and answers backed by experience or fact regarding my question. Any other questions concerning my extremely successful cycle, 45 lbs of lean muscle after 8 weeks, start first line with - @ TAGGER15

Back in the day tapering was the norm. Nowadays stopping cold & running PCT or running a bridge is the norm.

IMO tapering down has worked for some folks. In your situation, especially with your illness, I would recommend either tapering down or running a maintenance dose of 100-200mg test a week until you recover.

Recovery is a bitch without having your illness. I think stopping cold and going straight into PCT would be the worst option. IMO my recoveries are always best when I can eat right and hit the gym, that is 80% of a recovery anyway. Since you cannot do that, either (1) taper into the 4th week or (2) run a maintenance dose of around 100-200mg of test until you recover, then hit the PCT.

I would go into a maintenance type cycle of 250mg test every other week. If you can, add in some peptides. I have been using 100mcg of mod grf 1-29 and 100mcg of ipamorelin every night prior to bed. It really helps with my sleeping and has helped my tendon soreness in my knees go away.

I don't taper off. Way back in the day I tried it and I don't think it really made a difference.
 
tapering down is a myth. the body does not start producing its own testosterone until ALL esthers are out of the body. dunno who came up with that theory, I think it was doctors who never did steroids in their lives.

anyone who says it helps I would like to see detailed evidence. blood tests confirming a taper down cycle got them recovered quicker.
 
Thanks for the reply, I think I'll keep tapering down. Fortunately for me, whatever this virus was, it only lasted 3 days, there is no way it could be mono. It is very rare I get sick when taking care of my body this well, I have only been eating, sleeping, and training. Luckily for me it was a scare, I must have had something else. I went to the gym this morning because I felt better, and unbelievably, I gained a lb. after 3 days of hardly any eating.

@stevesmi - the reason the Dr's told me to taper was because of the psychological effects, I think a PCT is the only thing that will help your natural hormones recover close to normal. I just taper down at the end so by the time it is completely out of my system, it's not like a complete drop from a built up 600 mgs of Test and 75 to 100 mg of Oxymethalone.
I read every other article on here about tapering, definitely no showing the body that it's time to start producing testosterone, but you can let yourself know you aren't superman anymore.

ONE MORE QUESTION?
Is my PCT cycle sufficient? day one: 300 mg of Clomid, ten days of 100 mg, then ten days of 50 mg???
 
Yeah I think tapering was phased out in the 90's. If your unable to keep up the intensity of the workout and heavy training because your sick then lower the test level purely so your not wasting it.

If your able to continue your workout, then leave the test.

Either way just keep your calories/protein up
