WOW!!! Thank you everyone! This is amazingly helpful. Unfortunately, the karma machine is hanging on me, so if you didn't get karma, it's not because I didn't try!
So the Step 1, Step 2 products are not like self-tanning lotions? They just make it so that you tan faster, right?
FyreWomanGoddess, it's not that I haven't tanned before - just haven't used a bed. I come from sunny South Africa - you just have to walk outside for a year-round tan. It has been a while, though.
New@ - yeah, it IS a BB show, sanctioned by the Japanese Federation of Bodybuilders (JFBB), but this is Japan, the land of mindless rules. No offense to any Japanese people, but sometimes it seems like those in authority here make rules simply for the sake of doing so. From a Western perspective, it's pretty stupid, but I think it serves the purposes of "wa" or social harmony here. Anyway, there's nothing I can do about it. At the 3 shows I went to see last year, everyone looked kind of dry-skinned - I don't think they were wearing any oil, although they were pretty dark. There was a clear contrast between the guest poser and the contestants. I'm sure there are ways around the rules, but I have to talk to more people here about this.
I heard Pam makes you too shiny, no?
Uh, one other thing - do I shave/hair-remove before tanning? Everywhere? Should one remove even arm hair before a comp.?
