Table Manners, Politeness and Steel Hankies... geigh?

:lmao: @ dig for tuskers

Good table manners and politeness by letting a senior seat in a train/bus, or the man opening the door for a lady etc distinguishes losers from the winners in my opinion.

Many people don't do it enough these days. :rose:

i agree....most of the people these days are rude and selfish....back when my mother was a child you had to respect your elders and also respect woman...today is a different story...instead of saying ma'am please pass the pepper and than you at a table it is now....."bitch pass the pepper".elders also have no respect either.what happened to actually helping an old lady cross the street??? now i see them standing at a crosswalk waiting for the walk signal....in my state we are mandated to stop for people in crosswalks reguardless of where yet no body does!!!!!!

What is stopping some men from acting in a traditional gentlemanly manner is that they think it is an equal world therefore no need to open doors etc. Some food for thought...

Where I live if you don't stop at someone crossing the road you get fined.

I'm an old fashion southern gentleman. I hold the door for people behind me, say thank you, call people ma'am or sir, and in general treat people with respect. I don't do this to impress, or because it is expected, I do it because that is how I was raised, it's second nature to me. :)

Yep. Same here.

Mom is from Savannah, dad is from Houston..........

I may look like a "Neandrafuck", but I certainly don't act like one. :)

i think a lot of the reason is mens egos and pride that stop them from being gentlemens......and yes in my state you get fined as well but no one hardly listens unless there is a cop around

all the things you scoffed at as a kid: respect, honor, manners, intergrity, and honesty become extremely important as you get older.
