Sust Amps breaking?

Are org sust250 amps supposed to break off clean. I have an amp opener and every time I use it (4 times so far)the top breaks off real sloppy and there are little pices of glass that fall out. It is not a real big deal. However if I am going to be doing this at least 12 more times I would like to do it correctly. Is there a better way to do this?

what are you using to score them.

I use a triangluar rat tail file.. costs about 4.00 and never wears out.. amps break very clean

If I can remember correctly, Those Sust vials did not break easily.

I am using the scorer on the inside 0f the amp opener. "triangluar rat tail file"
is that what I should ask for at the hardware store?

I ruined my old lady's nail file-but it worked.

i remember several years back that the organon sust. from turkey were very easy to crumble when trying to snap.

Use a pen cap, line it up at the breakpoint, use a towel or something, and snap it off. Clean everytime and no worries.

Never scored, haven't bought anything, and this method worked perfectly everytime for me.

From someone who exploded his first ever amp, don't fuck around with pen tops and nail files...use the amp opener, and keep twisting the opener over the amp until it just pops off clean - I usually make 3 or 4 good turns with the blade to make sure that amp is breaking proper.

yeah i have broken a few in the past.. ever since i messed my hand up on the glass i have been a little timid about just going about snapping the tops off. the best method i have found is to take a rag or washcloth. fold it in half and place the bottom half of the amp inside the crease where it is folded. then take your fingers and pinch as close to the amp as possible to keep it firm. then to go about and use the marker cap to snap it off. i have found when grasping the amp with fingers causes some uneven pressure so when the top snaps off the entire amp just shatters
