i know this is a power board but lots of people on here talk mixed martial arts and ju jitsu so i thought i would tell everyone about tournament
also i know i have not been on here much lately, but i still read, its just i've been back into ju jitsu lately

juice junkie took 2nd place in heavy weight under 2 year class and won a medal. he hurt his elbow in open and could not go on

me (aka tapout) was nagged out of "retirement"(i had no intensions of competeing again) by juice junkie and king samson so i went ahead and competed

i won the super heavyweight 2-4 year experience intermediate/advanced class-and got a trophy
and took 2nd in the open 2-4 year experience intermediate/advanced class- and got a medal

i got my matches video taped (most of them at least) and was beating the guy who beat me (on points and was keeping position on him) but damn he was technical and i was so out of wind (matches were 6 minutes starting from standing with no resting allowed) he got me in a tricky ass armbar

had a blast and was bit by the competeing bug again,i only trained 1 and 1/2 weeks for this and only been back for 2 months after a year and 1/2 off-- i am going to do world martial arts compition in orlando in october and training for it now by putting my big ass on stepper and getting some wind

thanks for reading bros

after looking back on the post i did not mention what a motivation my wife was. during the semi finals my opponent was trying the stare down and him and buddy were talking smack---my wife pulls me over and said hes giving you that i want to kill you look she said go out there and kick his ass---thats motivation--i just smiled at him even in face to face that is so fun

Sheesh not bad for 1 1/2 weeks prep.....and congrats to juice junkie.
I got into the sport a few years ago.....one of those things you have to try before you realise just how tough it is. Unfortunately, it is tough to do both that and PL justice......so I quit lol (in all seriousness, it's tough to lift when your joints are screaming at you!!).
Congrats again......keep us updated on future comps......

PS: I bet the guy talking shit at you knew he lost the second you smiled at him hehehe.

Congrats man. Glad to see you put it on the line. I heard you did really good too. Also heard you were the most muscled dude there. Way to represent!

Great work,

Very impressive indeed, and you are quite correct to post this here. But when you do that, I read it, and start thinking about getting back into the ring myself, although when I think about how long my layoff has been, I quickly come back to my senses.

As Jay says, these sorts of things definately get the blood flowing. Congrats again. Wind and keeping your head together play a big role in these sorts of things. Good luck on your conditioning going into the next set of matches.

Aka-tapout, I had been thinking about my overall health.
Your posts and answers to my questions motivated me to
get back into martial arts. Ju jitsu would be too tough on
me at my age, so I opted for Aikido, which provides a good
workout while keeping me in one piece.

As soon as my arm heals, I will be back at it.

Congrats everyone!!!!
