study confirms steroids are harmful .... . thank u yahoo..

They left out the part where you become a blood thirsty cannibal when using steroids.

Fuck that article. Propaganda bullshit is all it is.

Nothing that you lads didn't know already.

It is important to look at the original paper, rather than what the media has reported on.

"The most important modification observed was impairment in the lipid profile associated with an increased cardiovascular risk," Bonetti said. Levels of "good" HDL cholesterol fell during steroid administration, as did levels of Apo-A1. Low levels of the blood protein Apo-A1 have been linked to an increased risk of heart attack.

Another "important long-term adverse effect" of anabolic steroid use was reduced fertility, consistent with prior studies. The bodybuilders experienced a significant decrease in sperm count and "fertility index."

i take steroids and i eat babies! yea !! lots and lots of infants !
on a serious note.. notice how only 2 out of the 22 bodybuilders ceased using steroids ...

LOL at this fucking article.

I refuse to let the media determine how i live my life and what i believe.

they can get down and one by one suck me off.

FUCK them.

pardon me...just sick of the media trying to brainwash people based on their biased opinions.

actually only 13 remained in the study...

just sayin'

oh . shows how observant i am lol . :verygood:
i cannot stop being irritated at how harmful cigarettes and alcohol are but yet they are legal . c'mon America?!! you think smoking at 18 and drinking at 21 make it any less abusive to your body??? legalize steroids and put an end to "bathtub" gear and tax them. put an age limit at 21 or whatever makes you happy America. fuckin A......

they don't mention what AAS they gave the subjects?

You have to go to the original paper.

It didn't tell you lads anything you haven't already discussed already on this board.

I didn't think it was that 'steroids are bad and wrong'.

oh i know tat, i just wanted to laugh at the dosing since it was probably something crazy like a gram of test per week for a first time user

It was an Italian study, I am fairly positive this is not the first one by this scientist.

There were a few issues with the first study as the cycles were not standardised if my memory serves me correctly.

I think it is a good thing that some research is being done.

It may not be perfect yet, drug studies are always difficult, it is probably difficult to get funding for steroid use for recreational use.

I really do not get this "study". The conclusions are common knowledge. What was stated is equivalent to saying the side effect of drinking alcohol is getting drunk. Duh! None of the details of what steroids were used and amounts were stated.

Conclusion: Elementary propaganda to brainwash the brainless masses.

I can't comment on the quality of the study because I couldn't find it. It's great that studies are being done and hopefully more knowledge will be obtained on the dangers and benefits of steroids. The media is full of crap though, always sensational instead of giving an unbiased overview.

Hmm this study says the same thing every other study says in the media. What an easy way to fill a news section.

Beat the "use vs abuse" horse all you want. Ultimatley, we all know using AAS regardless of how responsible you are is probably not going to benefit you later in life, period. Same with smoking, same with drinking, same with eating Macdonalds etc ... ultimatley its your body and your descision to do with it as you please, so the govt should fuck off.

All these are well known side effects of ASS.
So what else is new?

There is no point in condemning the study. You can't hide your head in the sand.
How many times have you read posts on THIS BOARD describing one of these side effects?
All these side effects (and some more) are mentioned in the most poupular book on Anabolics.
