Strength (1-6 r) or toning (18-25 r) for triathalon training?

Ive been training for a triathalon. I know it will take a while to get into very excellent shape, but I was wondering if u ppls thought that it would be better to do strength or toning training w/ weights.
 
wouldnt endurance training be the best? i think tonig would be better of the two but endurance is key, maybe do toning with some speed bench etc
 
I'm an amateur endurance enthusiast myself and have found it hard to find good info pertaining to AAS and endurance sports. I found some excellent threads on endurance training on www.cuttingedgemuscle.com forum. If you are serious about Tri check them out and get back to Elitefitness and share the wealth.
