Steroids are just like HEROIN........

Listen to this bullshit. Tonight I go over to my girl's house, and after the Orange bowl, I am flipping through the channels on tv. Well I put it on "True Life: I'm on Steroids" just to see what kind of bullshit they can come up with. Well my girl's dad is laid up on the couch and starts in this bullshit about how steroids can kill you, and they are just like putting heroin in your body. At this point I began to get thoroughly pissed off but tried to keep my temper down and kept telling myself "ok dont do it, its not even worth it, hes just uneducated like the rest of the people". He follows up with telling me he's done research, and steroids can cause impotence and risk having deformed children. This is where I really started getting angry and had to defend it by saying there is absolutely no scientific proof that babies can be deformed from the use of steroids (use by males anyways). he also said he knows a guy whos lungs were being destroyed and filling up with blood, and the doctors gave him steroids that settled in his hips that caused him to have to get hip replacements. He said once a steroid gets in your body,it never leaves and settles in different parts of your body such as bones, organs, and what not. Man this shit fuckin pisses me off so much. Not really a point to this thread but I had to put this out. It's sickening how MTV and other media bullshit puts out AAS use and people that are uneducated think they fuckin know everything.

Damn boy...you shoulda pimp slapped his ass across the face. You know...back handed style cuz his bullshit isn't worthy of your meaty palms. I know I always feel better after honoring stupid ass bullshit with a pimp slap to finish it all off. Just my 2 cents. :)

Steroids can give rise to impotence and oligozoospermia, which can increase the likelyhood of a deformed foetus. If you hit a vein, your body will try to eject the gear via the lungs. Gear does settle in the body: Deca, for example is still detectable 18 months after a cycle and likely persists for years afterwards at sub-detectable levels, especially in a user carrying a higher BF.

A lot of the media anti-gear hype is based on fact. It's just that, as usual, it's blown up to become sensational to make either a point or a story. As users, we do take a risk every time we run a cycle and we research to try to minimize the risk but let's never get blazé about using gear. Just look at the number of threads we get on here every month with the title "Help!" or "Urgent Advice Needed" or similar.

That said, most here know pretty much what they're doing to keep risks to a minimum and the general public knows only what the current crop of politicians cares to tell them for their own agenda.

.

the theory is that oligozoospermia (low sperm count) can lead to the possibility of birth defects because there are fewer sperm competing to fertilize the egg, and thus an increased chance of a sperm carrying a genetic mutation to reach the egg.

There is no AAS related mutation of sperm cells.

So if you think about it, the theory makes no sense except at the extreme lower limit. the percentage of normal vs abnormal sperm should remain the same. the natural selection process wherby healthy sperm will reach the egg first should still function unless the count is so low as to introduce chance vs selection.

and in any event, oligozoospermia is reversable in almost all cases with proper PCT (clomid/hcg/etc) even after long term use.

its a non-issue for the most part imo.

You'd be surprised at how receptive the media is to hearing an educated view on steroids. I've consulted with HBO as well as GQ, been on the radio, etc...all talking about anabolic steroids, and giving a pretty accurate assessment about them, and most of the time the people who I've been in contact with have been extremely receptive to what I've had to say.

funniest part of the whole episode right there... .especially the "settled in his hips" part... LMAO

I mean WHAT does that even mean?!

Awsome Anthony

I think it is great your being proactive about Steroid Education.....

Hopefully in the future your contributions will undo the fear mongering that has been woven

the HRT arguement seems to reach people easily

I love how all we have to do for social acceptance is to give it a different name. Add the fact you have a valid Rx and all seems to be forgiven.

Agreed on all points. Still, with poor information and a lack of research into ancillaries, the issue is large enough to be added to the list of media hype.

Great posts Blut! Tried to K ya, won't let me

Interesting that no one seems to talk about it badly when its for "rejuvenation". Great point!

from Alwyn Cosgrove, regarding HRT:

"What’s weird is that a “transsexual” male, once approved psychologically can take feminizing drugs to make him into a woman. But a man can’t take drugs to make him more of a man! What an ass backward world we live in."

A valid Rx is part and parcel of the game for me. I need to be able to talk to people in the underground (*sources, Labs, etc...) while at the same time not breaking any laws myself, which could cause my PC and information to be confiscated and used against anyone. On the other hand, I also need to be able to operate in the mainstream as well.

At the same time, when I talk to the media, I need to be able to show that I am using anabolics in a safe and doctor supervised manner, as an example that AAS can be safely used by a mature (sort of), responsible (kind of) adult (I'm over 18!).

So i would assume you use safe scientific methods to gather your information (coded) when interacting with the UG community....so that if you computer was took by a government agency, they wouldnt be able to link information together......Well....i guess thats a dumn question, your anthony roberts.but i been wanting to ask you that for the last couple months.

I train people myself and I'd absolutely love to be in the spot you're in someday. However, it's gotta suck knowing that you're constantly being scrutizized by "the man" because of your open opinion and honesty. In addition, because you dabble in a highly contraversial/illegal subject, some random 3 lettered organization might see fit to falsify/fabricate charges against you whenever they feel like it. Sure, the charges may eventually be dropped. It's still gonna cost an a$$load in legal fees to keep your name clean. Is living in that proverbial house of glass 24/7 worth it?

Remember Duchaine always talking about the feds going through his garbage every week? That had to suck-but he made his bed.

Is it worth it? It takes a certain personality type, I think...

But then again, it takes a certain personality type to quit their job to write about steroids full-time, without a safety net, right? I made that decision almost two years ago, and when I was asked recently what I would have done different, all I could think to say was that I would have quit my old job sooner.

(I was a crisis worker/ teacher in a school for the emotionally handicapped)

I must commend you on your work. Although I've only heard you speak on a radio show once and that was a long time ago, I have to give you your dues. If you weren't doing it, then who would? We need people getting the message out so that maybe one day we don't have to worry so much about what we do.

And a trans woman can take precription test to become more of a man!
Going back to the kernal of truth buried in the haystack of misinformation however......we all know that anabolics are indeed an addictive substance to many of us. I wouldn't go as far as saying they are like heroin, but it is just as irresponsible to say they are completely non-addictive!

what it means is he was confused ... commonly in medical use the term steroids is applied to corticosteroids (vs. anabolic steroids) which can over time weaken bones. cortico steroids have serious side effects for the most part totally different side effects than anabolic steroids ... even educated people who should know better at times confuse this issue... remember birth control pills are also steroids ... bla, bla, bla - point being there are different types of steroids with different side effects

lotta people on here sound like they graduated from harvard with a degree in steroid studies. Shit steroids has its negative sides, whats the big suprise? yet theres a new thread like this every week

then you got these same people making a thread saying "is training without steroids pretty much worthless to you". I'm sure some heroin addict out there is saying is "living without drugs meaningless to you"?

Good post, dude!

news stories about average guys carefully using AAS with moderate to good results wouldn't have very good ratings now would they ? I don't listen to the Matt lauers that have an agenda I do my own homework and march to my own drum..... I have the severe acne to prove it

This is something that is very true, and many people who use AAS refuse to admit it. AAS are definatley very mentally addicting. I'd say they rank way up there for mental addictive potential.

So true. If i'm on 200mg of test a week im a steroid abuser and exposing myself to all kinds of side effects but put me on HRT on the same dose and I am accepted just like millions of other men, with no negative media.

I have to disagree with you here "THE RESULTS MIGHT BE ADDICTING" . For instance if I were to invent a Inexpensive Protein Shake that gave you the same RESULTS. 99% of the people that use gear would switch to the cheaper LEGAL product. :Chef:
