Thank you all so much-- and Spatts, if you're going to save this post as a "newbie-bump" post, I also want to throw in that I lift HEAVY. No low weight/high rep BS. I push myself until failure with weight that challenges me. My split right now is back/bi/tri, legs, shoulders/chest. I do 20 minutes of cardio after lifting and 3 days of 45 minute cardio on the days I don't lift. One day where I can have a cheat meal (I usually spike up my carbs) and one day to not work out.
Not eating enough and doing too much cardio will only make a person weak and tired. I see no point at all in doing 80 zillion reps of nothing-- when I work out, I want to be feeling it for at least a couple of days afterwards. I can't even tell you how good it feels to throw more weight on the bar-- strengthens my body and my ego.
