I'm really looking forward to this. Just talked to my censai (sp?) today to find out the basics and see what he was like. He was pretty cool and seemed very polite and easy going. I've already heard good things about him from an old friend of mine who has some half decent knowledge himself.

I will be taking Muay Thai and Fong Wei Do classes twice a week. I really feel like this is a great combination and would be complementory to each other.

Although I have some background in martial arts (Judo, Karate etc.) its nothing to brag about, so speak up and let me know your thoughts. Any advice, suggestions, thoughts on the matter would be helpfull. Hell, speak up if you have a story to tell.

Take care..

The Japanese word for teacher or instructor is 'sensei' it is a term that can be used for any type of teacher.

Enjoy you Muay Thai training, do tell us if you are going to enter fights or contests.

What kind of advice are you looking for?

MuayThai is an excellent martial art. We use it as the striking aspect of our freestyle jujtsu. be prepared to get some sore shins. Condition your shins as much as possible - you'll know why when you throw a roundhouse kick to someones thigh and he checks it with his shin.

also in alot of Muay Thai disciplines the instructor prefers the term "Kru" as a sign of respect to the instructor...good luck grasshoppa!:)
