Standing overhead presses, who likes them?

One of my favorite exercises. I think they really help my bench. I like 2x5.

I just started doing them and i love them. But let me tell you this... the weight is so much different than seated overhead presses

you can use more right? on seated i can do 185x5 but standing i can get 10-11. i used some body language of course.. but the next day, my lats are super sore from the negative:( ..
 
Overall, excellent exercise!!

For me they are difficult to execute . . . .probably because I don't use them as much as I should. I stick with the seated barbell presses.
 
Seated is easier for me...if I have back support.

B fold is right, its a lot easier if you have back support

overheads give you a great pump i love em
 
The OHP gets the brunt of my upper body attention, and for good reason.
 
I like em too! Good solid compound move and doing them standing forces you to use the rest of your body to keep stable.

I prefer seated presses for producing great mass. I also perform behind the neck presses(with a spotter) not as heavy as with front presses, but never the less, heavy. Tricky, though many dislike them, these have also produced great mass for my delts
 
I do them

Good coreworkout when you hold the lockout for a good 3 secs - I do this on the last rep. As well as hold then lockout for 1 sec for the other reps.

even better with bands :)
 
Yeauughhh!!!

Polish hammer is correct..I perform them as a push press and there or it gives a hell of a pump especially if you explode on the resistance part and then ride it slowly on the negative........
after that I do standing altenate dbell presses and finish off with bent raises
