This week ive started doing squats free bar, without any neck pad. I can squat more, go deeper, and keep my back straighter without the pad. Suggest to anyone to make the leap and ditch the pad.

...now center of gravity is another story...my traps sit so high that it makes it higher than using a pad and placing lower on the back
