squat day w/ 20 rep PR and GMs

today was my squat preperation for the competition, felt good, all raw, will use wraps and belt for competition. Its being done on the smith machine and it hits my quads real hard.

Smith Squats

185x6
225x4
245x20 ( had about 2 more left in me, but dont want to go to complete failure before a comp. I figure at least 5 more with some equpment on. )

Heavy Gms ( first time ever doing them so i started real low and worked up, instead of chains i used the pins to stop the bar at flat back )

135x3 ( pretty much PRs from here on out cause i never even tried heavy GMs before today )

315x1 ( ripped ass coming out of the hole, no one heard it tho )
335x1 ( stopped here cause i dont want to overdue it, figure maybe 30 more pounds i could have done, possibly ??? )

tomorow is deads 245 to failure ( that might take a while )
 
pins were set to a little above ( 1-2 inches ) parallel back to floor. Stood straight up back flat. When lowering would bend slightly at knees. Pause for a second on the pins, squeeze my hams and glutes, and drive them foward to get back to the starting position. Its the first time ever doiung them, ive seen videos. I just wanted to get a feel for them, no back pain at all. They are now a regular part of my lifting, just not sure what rep and set combo to use cause im not doing WS.Ill have to borrow a vid camera next time so i can actually see my form and not just feel it. It was hard, but not kill me hard, so maybe i did something wrong, didnt realize the numbers were that good???
 
Its a nice GM for your first time or any time really. I think I'll own the squatting and deadlifting on the weekend, without a doubt!

Video it to check your form. It always helps because you're rarely going to make a 100% perfect lift.
