depends on what you consider "sponsorship". Most sponsors look at it as 'What can you do for them. Can you push their product or put a face on their product? For the most part you need to have a good physique (at least top 2 in national qualifer show) and have a decent track record. It took me several years to secure the two I have now. (opt.nutrition and muscleheadz gear). As for getting something from them? SO far I have recieved NO money but lots of supplements and TONS of clothes (gym crap!). You need to get a portfolio, just like a model, and sent it to companies and then follow up. Ronnie Coleman (natural one not mr. O) gave me a lot of hints to get sponsors but it takes work. Some companies are overwhelmed with people.
AND if all fails it sometimes comes down to WHO YOU KNOW! thank god I know the Art director at M&Fitness. I have a photo shoot in 4 weeks..
