Spices/Marinades/Dipping Sauces

What do you guys use for your chicken breasts?

Very little or no carb please. Just grilled chicken breast is starting to get old, need to put something on it/with it.

I like to marinade my chicken in italian dressing and lemon juice. All of the Mrs. Dash 30 minute marinades are pretty low in carbs.

I know this isnt chicken but a great marinade for pork is lemon juice and ground ginger, leave it raw soaked in that for about 10 mins then grill. Its beautiful. Idk about having it on chicken though, maybe you could give it a try, hit me up on pm if it works.

Any carbs in lemon juice or ginger? Seems like there'd be lots of sugar in lemon.

If not I'll definitely give it a try. Sounds great.

Keep em coming. Had to turn to fattening honey mustard sauce tonight. Can't keep doing that for sure.

Pesto is very good with chicken, and pretty low carb too - if you buy it ready made there's about 4g carbs per 100g, and if you make it yourself you can probably get it lower than that.

You could also try cutting slits into the top of the chicken breast and putting a little bit of feta cheese in there, then roast the meat in the oven. Feta's low in carbs, and the cheese melts inside the chicken and goes a bit crispy on top. You only need a tiny bit of feta to make chicken taste better, so it's not too high fat either.

Enjoy!

I love that feta cheese idea.

The spices with the highest ORAC (antioxidant) values are cloves, oregano, parsley, cinnamon.

Olive oil and no-salt seasonings are a good idea. Mrs. Dash makes many different no-salt spice formulas.

Dill is good, Thyme and Tarragon are healthy. Cumin, Curry powder, etc.

Chop the breasts up and cook them in the skillet with a little olive oil, some white wine, then add in minced galic. Once the chicken is almost done throw in a bunch of steamed broccoli to soak in at the end. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

This is a good low carb post 6PM meal. The wine will have a bit of sugar but not much.
