Anyone ever beat a speeding violation in court without a lawyer? If so, what was your defense? I have a good idea what Im gonna try, I just want to make sure it's gonna work.

Where i live an officer has to be either in full uniform or a marked car to pull you over...if he pulls you over and is not in uniform and in a unmarked car the ticked will be thrown out

is this your first ticket? if you have a lot of tickets there is no point in going to court just pay it but it is only like your 1 or 2 ticket go to court and fight it....i have only had one ticket in my driving time and like a fool i paid it...hubby said i should have fought it....well ok another ? how fast were you going?

I've been to court for a speeding ticket by myself. I just told the magistrate that I was going downhill and when I got to the uphill, I had to speed up so I wouldnt be an oblsticle for the other cars. When I got to the even road, I didnt realize how fast I was going. The cop withdrew the ticket and I was off. I kept my record perfect

Lawyer will just make a plea bargain. Since we have a points system here, most people will pay a lawyer (usually they get paid according to the no of pts they spare you like 100$/pts) and let him deal.

Just have the attorney get it changed to improper equipment....this will not add any points as a moving violation, unless of course you have a very bad record already, in which case, well, good luck.

It's the 1st time I ever got caught speeding. Well, technically the second, but that was written up as a wreckless driving charge. But that was years ago. I talked to a cop the other day and based on what he told me, my defense was going to be to challenge the cops radar detector. He told me all I had to do was say I wasnt doing the speed he clocked me at, and then ask for the cops calibration records, maintenence records, etc. in order to prove improper calabration and/or operation of the radar detector. And that alone is supposed to be enough to get the ticket thrown out.

In my years of experience, and many many tickets...that will not fly. The judge doesn't want to spend a lot of time on these, and he rules quickly, but, consult an attorney, and he will definetely know the local customs...

Dude, ask for a trial by jury. The court and the DA hate messing with a trial by jury so the DA will settle with you. Tell him you will pay the court cost but you want no tickets on your record.
