speed up metabolism

hi girls,
how can I speed up my metabolism, I hae dietig long time. Almost 2 years I have had between 1000-1300 cal. I workout 5x at week. I'm 5'6" 109 lb what have I doing??

At 5'6" & 109 lb, you seem to be extremely small framed or extremely lean already(compare, I'm 5'6", and haven't seen 109 lb since, oh say, 4th grade?).

Do you know what your bodyfat is? It is possible at 1000-1300 cal/day you might want to increase your calories a bit for a short period of time. I don't know how your metabolism rates now, but at an extremely low calorie intake, it may perpetually feel like it is being starved and your metabolism has slowed down to accommodate a "famine" environment. Plus if you throw in training, you may be burning calories you don't have to burn and your body is trying to hold on to everything it has available.

How do you feel that your metabolism is "slow" now?

What she said. If you have been dieting for 2 years, then your body needs a break. Your lepetin levels must be super low. I would take about 2 weeks or so, eat whatever you want, whenever you want, and how much of it you want. After the "2 weeks" (or however long you choose), start dieting again. Yes, in that time, you might feel as though you gained 10 lbs, but you didn't. This should give a stalled metabolism a boost.

But, again, I go back to - I thought your goals were gaining MUSCLE now, not losing FAT? Why don't you start doing more research on GAINING muscle, instead of LOSING fat. At 1200-1300 calories a day, you are NOT on track to gain muscle. You need to increase your calories, increase your carbs to gain muscle.

I'm getting awful confused on what your goals are, so it makes it hard to give advice. You say you want to gain muscle, but you don't seem to be asking for advice on THAT, only on losing. I noticed on Iron Trybe, you are asking the same questions (and getting the same answers as here). If you truely want to gain muscle, you need to revamp your thinking, or you will never reach your goals. You are simply not fueling your body to reach your goals. I KNOW you have the desire, it is evident in your posts. But, you have to CLEARLY define your goals and research how to reach those specific goals.
