Spatts - Figure Comps

My sense is that the Arnold Pro figure is going to be a completely different ballgame. Fitness without the routines and you know what the top fitness girls look like, even if they were a little softer, they are going to be light years away from what the top contenders and winners of the Team Universe Figure looked like. I doubt if you're going to see any asses that are bigger than the shoulders in the Pros, and if you do, they'll be in the audience for the finals.

Look for a contest ready Brickgirl or Pumpgirl (if I remember her handle correctly) physique as the baseline criteria.

Then again, who really knows with today's judging.

Are their asses SUPPOSED to be bigger than their shoulders?

:mommakin: they can be.....

What's wrong with having an ass to match your shoulders as long as it goes back, rather than out to each side?

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! :D

hehehehe.

I saw photos of the Team Universe figure women in this month's Iron Man, and my first thought was (of the winner) - damn, she's really soft. No ab definition at all, and it looked like she even had a little side ab hang over her suit. Plus, she really had no upper body development. They mentioned her "balanced" physique, but I just couldn't see it.

Maybe W6 is talking about ass/hip breadth = shoulder breadth?

Spatts, why not do a BB contest. Why compromise the muscle you've worked so hard to get?

IMO, and i know i'll get flamed for it, the judging crietria for figure contests seems to cater to strippers, dancers etc, who are blessed with genetically great shape and lines and require minimal training.

Is it really sport or a pageant? You need to find a contest where muscle (as well as presentation) is the criteria.

i concur

though the extreme bodyfat levels might not be desireable to spatts (or maybe they are...i dont know) i think the ability to actually show muscle vs. not appear too muscular seems to tip in spatts' favor. why diet down and waste away when you can look full and show what you actually train for?

just my thoughts.

you come on out spatts...I'll whip you into contest shape and get your presentation tight! and you can learn me all about WSB. :p

I will agree...some of the winners were softer..it was a natural show however. I did compete and my ass was not wider than my shoulders nor did i have ab hangover...placed very high...and moved to the next level. You have to understand there is a lot of politics in these shows...the best girls dont always win etc....They did fail to show a picture of the tall class at the team...i think u will see it continues to get more and more like fitness as this division grows etc.

I've noticed the politics...

I was at the Junior Nationals this year, and the two girls I picked for 1 and 2 ended up 4 and 5. One of them had beautiful quad definition - all I could think was how hard she must have worked to get it. Then, she loses to someone with no visible definition. Damn, that would suck.

I hate to say it -- figure is still weird. I hope it doesn't detract from women's BB but I can't help but think its really going to end up as drug loaded as BB. As was stated -- the criteria is still up in the air. The girl I saw win the Southern States figure show was pretty ripped up.... She wasn't big, but very ripped up. Also looked a bit jacked.. but that's just my opinion....
