Sources Of Calcium

EL GAUCHO

Having cut out milk from my diet, I fear I may not be getting enough Calcium.
Can you all suggest some other sources for Calcium please?
Thanks,

I take Calcium Citrate tablets, cause when I drink too much milk I get sick. Citrate is more absorbable than carbonate or oyster shell.

sardines (with the bone)

Broccoli, sardines, etc are sources.....but what I really, really like are Viactiv Calcium Chews. I get them at Costco for $10.99 for a big container of it. They come in different flavors but I like milk chocolate. They are 20 cals and provide 500g of calcium & they taste like a Tootsie roll.

Check them out.

regular soy milk has LITTLE calcium

only calcium fotified soy milk has some Ca

Cal Citrate bar none - 2g's ED!
Get the ones with 2:1 Cal:Mag ratio - excellent supplement :o
An alternative - Coral Ca, but $ per $ citrates rape corals in the face :martini:

I second this one...These things rock!!! I've had the chocolate, caramel, and the orange cream and ALL are excellent. They are a good fix for a candy craving :)

Jenscats, how many do you get for $10.99? I get a container of like 60 for like $5...just wondering if I'd be better off getting from Costco, too...

I think the calcium in milk isn't very absorbable anyway so your levels might not need that much supplementation if that is all you cut out.

How absorbable is calcium in hard pill form? I have 300 pills, do I need to take it with something for it to be absorbable? (It has Vit D)

Thanks

if you're not completely eliminating dairy, you can eat some cottage cheese before you go to sleep. good source of protein and calcium.

I'm not sure how many are in a container but I eat 1-2 everyday & it lasts me for months!! It's a pretty big container....

Ca from some cheap pills are poorly absorbable :worried:

Check out Inulin (Search for it on google). It's a FOC thats treated by your body as fiber.

It has may benefits..1 of them being increasing absorption rate of calcium when taken together. I got a Kilo of it from blackstarlabs. It's half as sweet as sugar and can also be used as a mild sugar substitute.

Thanks,
