sost redijects removed from foil thingy trays - sterile?

a friend bought some sostenon 250s in mexico. in the process of transporting them to his country, where sovereignty over ones body is unthinkable, he removed the little trays from the original boxes, opened the foil, removed the redijects, and stashed them in his underwear. obviously, he was careful to not disturb the rubber tips protecting the end of the redijects.

now he asks me whether it is safe to use these, given the rather dense population of gram negative bacteria that hang out down there. i.e., if one sterilizes the outside of the rediject with peroxide and then washes ones hands well before removing the rubber stopper on the end of the rediject and applying the needle, is one generally in safe waters?

i searched extensively for information on rediject sterilization and found only debates on heating oils and the potential damage to the substance therefrom.

do others transport redijects in this fashion?

If your worried, I'd just run an alcohol swipe over them before you put the needle on.

im sure its ok to post mexican prices no? the redijects for from $10-15. the deeper you go into MX, the cheaper they get.

next time, tell your friend to tape the rubber ends incase it spills out

I have brought back many a rediject, and the issue of sterility being compromised was never an issue for me. But then again I transfer the oil into another pin before injecting (as those harpoons are just too big) As long as the rubber stopper was left on, but I would advise you change the oil into a smaller pin for insertion.

Why change to another syringe? I just stich on a 23 gauge to the original rediject instead of the harpoon provided. They stay on pretty good. Never had one pop off yet.

In any case, they were 140 pesos each, or US$13 each.

Well the BD's and Terumo's are threaded pins while the redijects just slide right on, no threading. But I stopped buying them over a year ago(too expensive), so perhaps they have changed since then??
