Something ive been pondering

if you cant hit a muscle from and different angle then why have many different exercises? is this so we dont get bored? i feel you can build huge legs by just doing squats, why add leg press and extensions?i understand some movements work better but why not just do that exercise for that bodypart
anyone care to discuss this cuz ive been wondering this lately

Thanks for the clarification..... basically cause each movement that is done recruits many muscles for example bench does Pectoris minor and pectoris minor anterior delt posterior delt to hold and stabalize the weight and a lot of other muscles when you different exercises the stress on these secondary muscles changes....

This change shocks our body into growing, and it is also a mental thing as well.

performing a variety of exercises helps fatigue the primary muscle by getting rid of the weak links. this is usually where isolation exercises come into play:

e.g. flyes after bench [tris, delts = weak links]; extensions/press after squats [lower back = weak links].

you have a good point and cleared things up,it was just a lil something i had been thinking of but forgot that aspect, thanx for explaining it

I think the real answer is: indecision.

The whole fitness world has different opinions on what works and what doesn't.... and I think the majority of people still believe you can make the muscle hypertrophy in different places with different exercises.

Only two years ago I was still being taught that at the most credible university for Sport Science in Australia.... they might still be teaching that for all I know.
