Someone should plaster pages of pornography all over this church

Actually, I think it is great. It is very innovative and a part of the free country we call America. If you dont like something then you are free to try and change it - this guy is doing exactly that. But if you notice in the article, someone else is footing the bill.

I bet the tactic would change though if the porno shops started sending the male congregation members certain items from 'lady friends.' But that would also be their right to do it.

Personally, I dont care if people look at porn or not, but I do know that these types of shops do downgrade a neighborhood and I certainly wouldnt want them near my home and cause my hard earned equity to decrease.

Good response. The church is doing what is in their rights to do. I just think that if you do something like that, you should be prepare for the consequences.

I think that's wrong. The church is trying to evoke shame and guilt to intimidate people away from visiting a legitimate business. They need to get a life.

This is just the first round in their intimidation campaign.

In phase two, Curling will follow them home, subjecting them to the holy fury of his loud pipes.

My thoughts: Regardless of the activity you engage in, if it makes you feel shame and guilt, you should not do it. It is 'wrong' for you. This can be drinking or drugs for some, or porn, or whatever.

Just because a business is legit, doesnt mean you dont have a right to oppose it.

In our society today, we really have to assume that everything we do or say could be observed and or recorded by another person. You need to be comfortable with who you are. If something about your life bothers you, then change it, thats your conscious talking.

It's just sick to me that a church would go out of their way to try to shame people in a pretend scheme to welcome them into their church. It's really screwed up.

If they actually follow the bible then they must have skipped the part that talked about all sins being equal in the eyes of god. So why aren't they sending post cards to themselves too for their own "sins"?

I think everyone has the right to their own beliefs but they don't have the right to push them on others.

ok, this guy believes that pornography is evil. that's fine. that's his right. he can believe whatever he wants.

i'm going to say this honestly, and might catch some backlash for it, but oh well.

i think religion is evil. i have every right to say that and believe that. if you believe in religion, good for you! i will NOT try to change your beliefs or try to convince you otherwise. i hate religious arguements. what i believe in and what you believe in are two totally different things, and we are allowed to have our own opinions and beliefs.

however, if I lived in this town and decided that since i was getting dumped on for buying pornography or going to a strip club or whatever, and that i was going to fight back, i would be considered the most evil person on the face of the planet. if i went and started staging a protest against the church and denouncing all religion and stated all my opinions that religion was in and of itself wrong and morally incorrect, well, i'd prolly have my house burned to the ground with me in it.

what pisses me off the most about things like this is that i leave religion alone. i don't try to change anyone's views, i don't call religion stupid, i don't mock people that go to church or read the bible or pray. i don't care what your beliefs are. you are free to have them, and i won't say or do a damn thing to change it or alter it. it's called RESPECT, which is something that i think a lot of these people don't have for anyone else but themselves. when you tell me that I am wrong because i do not belong to your religion, you are therefore telling me that you are better than me and that you are looking down upon me. i won't tolerate that attitude from anyone. i'm not a child anymore and refuse to be treated like one.

and about the placement of porn stores and strip clubs...put them on the edge of town, that's fine with me. doesn't bother me one bit. i'd rather have it on the edge of town and out of the way so my children and other people's children don't go in there before they are of the legal age to. i really don't want my children to ask me "Daddy, what's that XXX store that's right next to Walmart and how come we never go in there?" there's a porn store maybe 10 miles from my house and it's right on the edge of town. perfect place for it. there's strip clubs in the area, but the nearest one is maybe 15 miles away and they are all out on the highway where there's no other businesses located.

and the porn store near me needs to get a better selection. they really don't have anything good in there and i'd have to drive 35 minutes to the next one to get anything decent :(

why are they being allowed to harass and stalk people

heshould get a restraining order. or even better set up something similar for satan outside a church (each person getting a flyer for satan, or for a rival religion (which according to curling is the same thing). see how he likes that.....it would be legal if morally reprehensible

as long as they can prove that the business doesnt affect the life oif the neighbourhood significantly and the building is inconspicuous this is justanother man trying to push his morals onto another. he should put screens up round his lot

That's all I see it as. No different than a stalker.

Its very different. Children are coerced into believing that religious leaders are role models. The average stalker has no such responsiblity.

word.

That seems like veiled blackmail to me.

I think I'd have to throw him a beatin.

Shit I should've realized this was in Texas.

They think they can do whatever they want here.

I lived in a small town for a while (I mean SMALL). and They would do shit like this.

Once the town actually postponed Halloween because it fell on a sunday.

these asscocks actually said

"Because sunday is the lords day and Halloween is a satanic holiday".

fuckin religous zealots.

I'm going to send this guy some gay porn and tell him that as long as he keeps photographing people he will continue to receive it in the mail:

Oakcrest Family Church

6741 Oakcrest Drive West
Fort Worth, TX 76140
817-483-3723

Jim Norwood, Pastor

Dude. What they're doing is equivalent to waiting outside the porn store, pointing their fingers, and yelling, "Shame on you! SINNER!"

But there's also the added intimidation of "look, we know where you live," and "we have blackmail proof of you purchasing porn."

This is entirely out of line. It's harrassment.

The stores should all bombard the church with pornography-filled mail, with the line:

"We saw you in the neighborhood, and thought you might like to pay us a visit."

I think it would be great if he received dozens of magazines every single day. Also people could visit the church and leave magazines in the pews.

There's no point. He's probably in there anyways when nobody is looking.

I like this part of the article:

Norwood, 56, who says he is a reformed drug abuser

and this:

he said, chomping on a piece of gum.

I bet those addictions still have a grip on him.... if the porn lovers in the town sent him an 8ball every so often, I bet they would be rid of him sooner than they think....

By the way I always love it when former low-lifes try to improve the quality of our lives.....

i'd take 10 adult shots in my town before id take one "church" like that.

Its that type of mentality that led to burning women at the stake.
