I just had an interresting conversation with one of my female friends. It started when she stated that she had NEVER mastubated. I couldn't believe this, but her rational is not religeous, but rather she feels that sex, and any thoughts of sex, will take her away from the person she aspired to be. She is the ultimate tomboy, the hottest damn tomboy I've ever met, and she thinks that sex is unnatuaral and immoral as an excersise of self-gratification.
It is my notion that some people have been socialized to NOT enjoy sex, but to rather see it as dirty. Why is this, I ask??? Has our society not yet realised that sex is a healthy aspect of human nature?????
Sex is the most natural of pleasures. There are no sides effects as long as the proper BC measures are taken, and nobody gets hurt when it is performed between two consenting adults. I respect those that wait for marriage, or save themselves for that "special" someone, but to refrain from intercourse simply because they have been taught that it is dirty tells me that there is something wrong with the teachings of our society.

To indulge in procreation is to give in to our natural tendencies, which to me should never be completely ignored. Perhaps post-poned, but never ignored.

Could some of you offer me any insight to this??????

You know, I dated a girl like that for some time.

she was really fine, half jewish, half black. Her mom was jewish, and very sexual, and I think her dad was kind of pricky.

When we were hanging out......like everyday in the summer for two months, I didn't even touch her.

Then she said that she liked "dating me" and that she was sorry for not being more intimate.

........Up to that point I thought we were just freinds.

she said her dad had some sort of negative influence on her sexuality.....I think it's because he left her family early, to chase some young girl,........but she also said she had bad experiences at intimacy with other guys.

So I Figured that since i spent so much time with what i previously regarded as a freind, that I would be patient with her, a try to show her a good experience.
we still are seeing each other to this day, and she is a more happier person.

I am not saying that I had everything too do with it, but all the guys out there should try to enter into a realtionship, in the attempt to improve the quality of life for yourself, and most importantly the person your with.........
I want every girl, to remember me as someone, that they learned something from, or that they have positive memories about.

It's all about making each other happy, and helping each other through problems...........

and it sounds like your doing that, or your trying too.

Omega- First of all, yougot Karma coming your way, second of all, do you think that it is possible for people to avoid sex if they were competley devoid of social influence?? FOr example, if a woman had been raised in a room with nothing except food appearing 3 times a day, do you think she would still want to perform the sexual act???

I still can't get over this shit.

i grew up catholic but i wouldn't say i ended up practicing everything it preaches by far...

But was there any question as to the natural tendencies toward sex????

I'm catholic myself, and have NEVER thought sex was unatural or dirty. Have always regarded it as a natural act affection towards someone.

BTW

I DON'T practice my religeon. Just grew up with it.

yup, thank the 'morally righteous' for this

i mean at a stage they actually dictated what position you had to have sex in. i have absolutely no problem with 'free love' and i dont think anyuone else should as it is a natural act between 2 consenting adults, just as long as it is performed safely

i also hate terms like 'slut' and 'whore'.......their is such stigmatisation associated with sex, which is crazy since it is a natural act.

also its even more extreme attitudes like this which have tried prevent safe sex being taught etc, and at the end of the day this is whats gonna drive the incidence of STD's and pregnancies down. contraception should be readily availible to all that need it and education about urges, how to understand thm and how to act on them safely are V.necessary

and thankfully its starting to happen

Becker has explained that society is run by "moral entrepreneurs" and "rule enforcers". With reference to sex, this makes sense. I can partially understand the premise to deter sex before the invention of contraceptives( IE Population control, spread of disease) , but with contraceptives in the present, there shouldn't be any reason, other than personal belief, that stops a person from engaging in sexual activity. The standpoint of certain religeons on sex has actually made there followers deviant in there bahviour concerning sex, when in fact it should be an act that is the most pure.
