lighting up the summer leagues, get your eyes adjusted because someday youll tell you kids you saw the Great King James play when he was 18.

He will be fine untill the Sexual Assalt accusations begin!

Its the summer league. Just keep that in mind. I too would like to see him impact the League, but its too early to tell, imo.

He's the real deal. Amanhild with a head for the game. He reminds me of Michael Vick in that way.

he will be great, but 14 and 17 isn't exactly lighting up the summer league. last summer richard jefferson and joe forte both averaged over 30 in summer league play.

He's gonna get arrested within 4 years for possesion of a firearm, sexual assault and DUI.... mark my words.

But he is a good player.

GOT DUNKED ON BY A WHITE GUY IN A SUMMER LEAGUE...OUCH! but he will do good and he has a good attitude about playing reall man's ball...big ass nose though damn! i hope he does well

In the year 2005, he will be visited by renegade ass martians hiding out in the sac gargler nebula. Together, they will realize that EF is being threatened by forces unknown, and will fight with superheroes Wodin and Beastboy to save the forums. Cheese and toast for everyone.

the fame will get to his head and he will die of a drug overdose.

Already is....

Making comments like, "I had more people watching me in High School then the Cavs had watching them last year"....will get him laid out. He'll take some heft elbows.

Jackangel is now the most intelligent poster on ef with that prediction!

Damn....I didn't even see that.....do we have a secret hand shake? Or do we sword fight?

Decoder Rings.

no one plays defense in summer league and a lot of the guys there don't even make the teams.

LeBron has to ability, the rest he will have to grow into.

He should have went to college... at least for a couple of years. Not that he can't play in the NBA (well he might need a year or two to adjust like KG or kobe) but I think he's missing out on the best times of his life by not going to school.

Are you kidding on this one too?

actually no. if you disagree, say why.

The life of a college basketball player - especially a high profile one - is not so great. I was a division 1 basketball player...yeah it was cool...because my only pro options were overseas.

But the best players (I was friendly with a few guys who are in the NBA now) mostly just keep to themselves and a few good friedns, since image tarnishing can cost them tens of millions by lowering their draft status. They are basically just marking calendar days until they turn pro anyway. It;s not a lot of fun for them.....

Then there is the obvious:

One hundred million dollars.

The money will NOT always be there. Much of his marketability is tied to his straight from high school appeal.

In a few years, there will be another Lebron. The marketing never stops.

there is always the dreaded career ending injury as well.

Whatever he wants to do in life, those doors are opened to him with this money. College could only detract from that.

This kid has a great mind for the game, and he is vary mature for his age. He will make his mark very soon, and I dont foresee any of the drug/sex/violence problems at all. This kid is too smart, too focused and too talented to get steered away so easily.

If he had gone to college he would have been the stupidest kid ever. That money he took will not always be there...injury anyone? College on the other hand, will be.

Lebron made the correct move without a doubt, I as well played in college with options overseas, however, the life of a collegiate athlete is not all that it is cracked up to be, balancing books and athletics can be draining to say the least, especially with all the other distractions college has to offer. peace

how often do those kinds of injurys happen? please post up.

and he wouldn't be balancing books. he'd be balancing beers and broads and play some basketball in between.

Only has to happen once. Like it did to

David Rivers, Notre Dame. Highest point total ever for an ND freshman, ahead of Adrian Dantley and Troy Murphy. Guy was supposed to be the "next Isiah Thomas".

Jason williams, Chicago Bulls. If he left earlier he'd have 3 seasons worth of money already, not just one. but he just had to have that degree. well, great, he's going to love working for $50K. Stooopid.

and he wouldn't be balancing books. he'd be balancing beers and broads and play some basketball in between.

dare I say you were not a college athlete? especially one with an NBA future? I bet you watched a lot though. :)

Why can he not live that lifestyle now, with the money in the bank?

no need to be condescending matt, I'm merely offering an opinion. I never stated it as fact.

And I was semi friends two guys that went to college with me at virginia Tech and both played in the NFL. They had a pretty fun time in college if you ask me. oh well.

but for football guys, jumping from high school to the nfl is not an option.

you are correct sir. obviously my position different from everyone elses. not the first time. I'm just saying he's missing out on college fun is all.

college may be fun, but i'm betting that you can have some fun in the nba as well.
what bothers me is when people complain about bball players going pro early/ no one ever says anything about baseball players going straight out of high school/ tennis players turning pro at 13.
everyone wants to tell these kids to get an education first, but 2 things
1) not all of these guys are cut out for college
2)you can always get your college degree while your in the nba
(kobe did)

Oh trust me, he will have fun weather in or out of college. He is gonna have millions, and girls all over him.

That's fun my friend.

He wouldn't get so much attention if he was in just college.

Seeing as how he has already blown off the rest of the summer league, he's already acting like a seasoned NBA star.

..I've always respected Bo Jackson for returning to Auburn eventually and getting his degree..Bo was a class act, probably still is as when was the last time anyone heard about/from Bo?

Well, he owns his own line of supplements/food products, as well as a cookbook. I dont know if he still lives in IL or not, but last I heard he was still living in the Oak Park area......

TJ Ford is the first name to pop to mind.

Not that his was career-ending but you may remember the hype and hoopla around it.
