Every day more and more news and articles talk about how bad mercury in fish can be for your health, i'm a fish lover since i always try to eat as clean an healthy as i can.
Is all that info we see misguided? or we really have to consume less fish to avoid harm from mercury?

I have started eating more fish since I decided to get leaner and it is disconcerting to know that along with this protein I'm taking in mercury and plastics among other things. So by bodybuilding I'm making myself sicker? What is the right course of action here?

certain fish contain high levels of mercury.. this is 100% true. try to avoid the apex predator fish like grouper, mackerel, sharks, swordfish, tuna etc.

however, I will take a little mercury over farm raised hormone infused fish anyday.

The whole mercury in fish scare is a little over blown. You just want to stick with smaller fish because the concentrations of toxins increase as the fish get larger.

Stick with wild salmon, cod, pollock, sole and pickerel. Even canned tuna is fine if you eat the skip jack version.

Stay away from big fish like albacore tuna and swordfish.

Common, yes, there is some mercury in fish, but the amounts of mercury in fish are so miserably small, that you would need to eat really a lot of fish, or eat it everyday. I would worry more about all the exhaust gases that you breath in on a daily basis with all the cars we have in modern cities - they will definitely do more harm than this microscopic amount of mercury in fish.
