So if deadlifts are supposed to be so great..

i have been lifting seriously for around 6 years and deadlifts are, easily, the most satisfying weight lifting exercise i do. its so simplistic-just you, the bar, and the weights. nothing else. i just started doing them about a year ago and in that year i have had more lower back development than the previous four years combined. whats even better is that deadlifts have pretty much cured the whole reason i avoided doing deadlifts in the first place-a bad lower back. now i have this fucking steel cage around my spine and i feel more solid than ever.

Ummm......no.

Erectors, dude.

They play a static role, as opposed to being a prime mover. Unless you deadlift with a rounded back.

View - you workout in a foo foo pansy ass gym.

That is all.

Supersizme -- You rock man.

Deads rule

I went to buy a weight set at Costco or Sams because I am tired of the gym scene.

They carry that rubber band machine now..........Soloflex.

It's very sad to be in a gym where when I'm deadlifting it gathers a crowd and they're asking what I'm doing and why. The trainers still try and convince me I don't have to lift so heavy. Ok, and when I want to look like I don't work out, I'll stop lifting heavy...

Besides, I though the CNS stimulation one got from heavy compound movements was the thing that spurs one's body to grow and adapt...

OK If people don`t deadlift, that`s cool, but WHY THE HELL do they "gather round" and watch while you`re doing them? lol I have`nt been to a commercial gym in many years, so I`m not sure how things work there, but are people that pathetic nowadays?

Yes. People stop and stare when I workout. I always think...crap why don't you guys trying doing the same thing instead of watching...we are here to improve our bodies not get a show.

Well, the only time I've seen anyone heavy deadlift is when my brother and I are doing them. Otherwise, what you see is someone SDL with 135lbs and then grunt and groan as if they had 1350lbs.
