I'll live off the mans engineer 401k

or find a sugar daddy that likes earthenware and metal sculpture

Ya you don't need to be a Doctor to make some money. Being an entrepreneur pays well too.

I remember you saying that 2 years ago when I joined

Just for shits and giggles I know from my records Lat sold over 100 grand worth of Adderline last year. That is just one product and the mark up on its 7 fold. Spent 20k made 80k I think he did well for that one single project. Know how I know this?

2011 is not done yet, 5 companies plus personal takes a lot of time bro. I am also not going to post it publicly but I am going to send you a pm right now :qt:

Now who needs to STFU?

I can remember when you first appeared on here; at least in your current incarnation.

You are one impressive guy.

On a more serious note: It's been my sad experience that "First Responders" (doctors, nurses, police, fire, EMS/paramedics) all-too-often make for lousy relationship partners.

They experience pain, suffering and death on a daily basis. In order to do their job properly "at work" they have to repress their emotions and adopt a "Mr. Spock" style of cool, calm logic and deaden their feelings and relplies, lest they act emotionally and foike up someone's life.

This cold, repressed, jaded way of thinking often creeps into their "off the job" personality and they get to the point that they cannot return any/most of the affection/warm feelings/tender emotions/love that they would like to give the other person in their life. It's not that they don't WANT to, they CANNOT anymore! Someone who appears to be funny, appealing and filled with joy on the suface is often hiding a heart encased in a self made block of ice. First Responders can and will leave someone who likes/loves/desires them at the drop of a hat over small, trivial items because they simply cannot feel anything inside anymore.

Divorce, drug abuse and alcoholism are often the undesireable side effects of being a First Responder.

The "First Responder Syndrone" is well known to psycologists and topics of more than a few articles.

Hoping that PDII avoids this pitfall!

People who know things here are aware that
I probably make quadruple what you do right now.
One day when you're making money with the big boys
(IF) you can come post here.
For now...
Take notes and be quiet.

The tren kicked in, but I'm not getting sucked into saying how much I made.
One of my lawyers made around the same amount, I'll leave it at that.

Yeah, I remember when I first broke 100K. :)

Good to see you ballin'
Luckily I had a much better year than just that.
But you are correct, I only made 80 the year before.
Combined with my dayjob!!
That was hell..

I wish I could create supplement stuff. I work extremely hard in a very stressful environment to make a decent cheque

I have a lot of respect for all you guys busting your ass at jobs like that.
I have had a lot of different positions, some that sounded rough like yours (not as cold though, I'm in a plane on the way to Miami right now actually :) )
People who talk down to others about money and didn't actually earn
It are wrong. (not calling out Mitch, I have no idea of his exact situation)
I have had my parents loan/give me some money and a car, but they never just handed me over a job. It fucking sucks working for a big company because it is often just a bureaucracy
that doesn't promote people properly.
I got fed up and created my own opportunities.
The same reason I do not work directly with big clubs for my parties,
You lose control and power of your project which inevitably
Hurts the end product.
People who don't take the risks to Leave their current job deserve what they get though.
It takes a lot of effort and passion to get where you want to go.
Look at needto!
Flight time..

I kind of look at it like ya I went through hell and back to get to where I am. Sacrificed everything I ever knew, my entire life and everything in it. But Still even with everything I did I would still be nothing with out the help and support of almost every member here on this site than and now. I am forever in debt to more people than I can count...

Thank you to all you guys even you chat pricks.

Entrepreneur/money/career thread!

I built my own business but honestly, I was too scared to take it to the next level. I was living off the money I made and had the best business of it's kind in my area, but I was too scared to hire someone. Control issues. I also was SUPER stressed out all the time and worried and stuff.

I got my current job, which pays more than my little (but excellent) one man business was paying me. I also get vacations, benefits, you know that kind of stuff.

I feel like I'm learning to work with others much better, and to relax, and understand how a successful operation works that has multiple people working in it.

I may stay here, or I may venture out on my own again. But I'm happy where I am.

Um, read the Original post in this thread. Its about how to snag a doctor spouse. Not about entreprenership

pfft

mad props to you and Needto. Its always great to see ppl you know..internet know.. doing well for themselves.

Somepeople i dont understand tho. I have no schooling.. i dont even have a journeyman ticket in my trade.. i dont even have a 1st year ticket in my trade lol. most ppl do there 4 years, get paid journeyman and give up! why tho????

ive worked in the oilfield for 8 years now, im 26 and foreman for the maintenance division for a billion dollar company, our maintenance division alone has a 100 million dollar budget, and its not enough. my current quest is to get another raise so then i can be the highest paid person in maintenance(minus the head office bosses). and then.. idk, but i will figure the next goal out when the time comes. meanwhile im taking an engineering degree through distance learning, which is my longterm goal.

my world is physical work and im always on a personal quest. good or bad my current situation can never be enough.. i look at it as my driving force tho. and i got this all from running my big mouth and working my ass off. the exact sentence that got me this job was "let me work for a week for free, then tell me you dont want me" that was 2.5 years ago
