Signs/symptoms of hiv??

xxpinkladyxx said:
I don't have HIV or AIDS but I read that some people can go for 10 years without any symptoms. If you think you might have HIV, I'd go get checked out. Sometimes you might think it's better not to know but you could infect other people which I'm sure you wouldn't want to do. Also, the earlier you find out, the more treatable it probably is. Obviously there is no cure for it, but you would obviously want to live as healthy and normal life as possible.

:rainbow:For me, it has nothing to do with coping. It becomes a part of your life. I basically live life just as you . Only difference is that I take my meds twice daily. I have never been one of those people who get "freaked out". When I learned I had HIV, I was already sick . There was no time for me to think about " when I get sick". My body had been at war for a long time, it was then that I learned I already had AIDS. I tell about my experince in the thread "How did you get HIV?"
The support around me is fantastic, always has been. Which I am very fortunate. Until all of the world comes to the reality of the whole thing. I fear there will still be those out there that will make it difficult on those of us living with HIV.
All I can ask is that people not be afraid, there is so much out there for us all to read and search on the internet, that it would no longer be an issue.

I "Thank You" for asking the question. Without questions, how else are you to learn?
Enjoy life, play safe...... ;)

thanks for answering..
its amazing how people like you have so much strength and still live on

with me personally if i get a migrane or my leg hurts for no apparent reason i start think about it a lot until i find why it happened , when and how i will get rid of the pain - i would be going to different doctors because i would not trust their analysis...

did you go to many doctors just to confirm the result.."just in case"?? does going to the gym make you feel healthier?

there is another question but it may be a bit too forward and upsetting...so i better not ask!!!

sorry about all the questions, but i have never spoken/chatted about this with anyone before!!

:rainbow: Honestly it is not a problem with me. I am an open book. There are a lot of people out there like yourself. They worry all the time about illlness or injuries. Not me, I find there is no need in worrie. It just will make thing worse.
I don't want to highjack this tread, it is after all someone elses post.
Think maybe I will post something for people such as yourself, who habe questions. Check it out....... ;)

A sign that you might have been recently infected could be a bad cold that you just can't shake. There are plenty of warning signs of the conversion from being HIV+ to having AIDS. Thanks!

Not to be picky, but what do you mean "signs" of the conversion from HIV + to "AIDS"??

Don't you mean signs of SEROCONVERSION from HIV Negative to HIV Positive?
the so called "Hiv FLU", etc. that sometimes shows up 3 months or less after initial infection?

Interesting stuff, and eye opening. Thank you, BabyBodyBuilder2, for sharing. Your candor is impressive.

It's my hope that someone will walk away from here once they have read some of our post. Then apply a bit of what we all have learned to each of their own individual lives. Knowledge is the only this battle will be brought to it's knees. .......... :)

Sorry for missing your post .....Did I go to different Dr's?...... No. There was no doubt in my mind.

Does going to the gym make me feel healthier? That would be a big ...YES. It has been only 3 years since joing the gym. It's becasue of that , I have now gained 25 pounds of muscle.... ;) . I do still have day's were my energy levels are not up to par. So, I just take it easy on those day. Rest is very important. Trying to remain stress free really helps as well.
Feel free to Pm me if you have a question you wish to ask , if your not comfortable asking it in the open. I alway will answer it. No matter what is asked.

I had not been tested in years, having slowed way down in my number of sex partners. The sign that I had gone over from being HIV+ to AIDS was when I had a pneumonia that could not be treated with the conventional medicine given for it. Also, I dod take a lot of pills at first, but with the new combo pills on the market as well as a understanding of the half-life of these meds, I have cut down from about 20 a day five times to two taken twice a day, a ten times drop and still as healthy as you can be still having AIDS. My meds are also easier to be compliant on making my life expencanty much longer. Thanks! Alan.

Baby, you've had it for thirteen years? Is that HIV, or has it developed into AIDs yet?

When did you catch it? Right after infection? A year? Three? More?
