sick, off and worried

I recently finished a 12 weeks cycle of deca and winny. I am happy with my gains. Now it seems I’m experiencing a set back. I took a few days (about 5) off from training because I had visitors and was working a lot. I didn’t think it was a bad thing. I had gone a long time with out a break and I felt it was deserved. However this and going off seem to have combined and when I recently did go back to the gym I felt very weak and had to drop most of my weights. This alone I could deal with. I planned to just hit it hard, take some NO2, watch my diet and get back in the game. Then I got sick. Nasty cold flu sinus infection thing. So this is my question. I want to prevent loosing my gains so how should I do this. Should I rest up and get better and then hit the gym hard as planned? Should I train even though I’m sick? Should I take a few days off to get better but go back on the gear for a few days to help prevent muscle loss? I know it sounds like I am making excuses not to train but that it really not the case. I love training… it is my top priority. I just want to know what you all think is the best approach in this case. Thanks so much!

Your wanting to stick it out and train despite a cold/flu is commendable. BUT, I'm a firm believer in resting up when sick. Keep your fluid intake up and eat a bit more to keep your strength up, too. At least that's what I do.

I also double my Vitamin C dosage - sometimes I even take one 500mg tab an hour when I'm sick.

Also, by becoming sick, your body could be just "telling" you it's time to rest and take a small break...or longer break. Just don't stress out over this, just relax and know that the gym will be there for you when you're 100%. Your gains will be back as well - remember "muscle memory".

this is very common when coming off of a AAS cycle... AAS lowers your immune system, I see this all the time...get your system healthy before hitting it hard again... remember the gym tears the body down, it does not build up the body....your cortisol hormone is probably at a higher than normal range right now, thats why the body feels weak, and it is...AAS suppress' that hormone, and allows your muscles to get larger and stonger...in doing so, the body wants to compensate for this, so it produces more cortisol than normal when on AAS...when you take away the AAS the cortisol remains elevated and you are now in a catabolic state. this is where everyone fucks up and looses their hard earned gains....especially when the AAS cycle is stopped abruptly with no support to even out the hormone levels in the body...when coming off a cycle you should lower your workout intensity and quanity as so not to further tear the body down.....
