Shoulder Workout QUESTION!

doubles1

New member
dont you think that doing military presses, and dumbell presses in the same shoulder workout is pointless??

correct me if im wrong but there are 3 heads on the shoulders and both military and db presses seem to hit the same thing onlyin a different manner....am i right on saying htis??

post your shoulder routine to help me out...as ive plateaued in the shoulder areas...

i don't do them in the same workout.

i only do a couple shoulder exercises per workout.

exercises in my arsenal:
overhead pin presses to a max
side lateral raises
plate raises
20 reps front, 20 reps side, 20 reps rear delts
rear delt raises
rear delt raises lying down on a bench
bradford presses for sets of 5-8
rotator band movements

my current shoulder routine is as follows:

clean and press 3 sets of 10
bent side laterals 3 sets of 10
db military press 3 sets of 10
front laterals 3 sets fo 10
one arm db military press 3 sets of 10
one arm side laterals 3 sets of 10

I believe that shoulders are worked differently during a db military press that with a barr. It helps ballance out the strenth indifference. I also throw in the one arm military presses because i can cheat a little with them and use more weight, helps for building mass.

The key to shoulder success is change.

I found for me, heavy military presses to the front, along with dumbell laterals have put the most size on my delts

You can always do low rep barbell then higher rep dbell.

Bar: 5 sets of 5
Dbell: 2-3 sets of 10-12
Laterals: 2-3 sets of 8-12
Rotators: 2-4 sets of 8-15

What else do you need?

As far as the Pressing exercises go, For me is seems to work well
to do:

Start Heavy/Low rep with the Mil BB
then Lighter High Rep with the DB both straight and Arnold Presses.

Not a bad idea!! I sometimes do this exact workout, except I perform Bent Dumbbell Laterals instead of rotators.

The dbell rotators are primarly for my rotators and my rear delts. I also used to switch it up and do heavy dbells followed by light barbells.

After my primary exercise...I tend to cut my rest time by 1/2...
