Recessions last about 18 months and unemployment isn't that bad, it was 11.3% under Carter and we had high inflation with 20% interest rates. Obama has been fear mongering with the economy just like Shrub did with terrorism.

IMHO calling every flat taxes an attack on the poor is misconstrued at best.

Where did I claim drug use was the province of the poor? I just claimed flat taxes hurt poor consumers more than wealthy consumers.
My best friend is a pack every three day smoker that makes 150k a year, Obama's new tax hurts him less than a pack a day smoker that makes 20k a year. However, there are a lot more smokers making less than 150k a year just like there are a hell of a lot for McDonald's consumers making less than 150k a year...substitute drugs with any commonly uses item and you should see my point.

You could levy a $1.00 a roll tax on toilet paper and the tax would economically impact the poor more than the rich. I don't make the rules...

Ever been to an Italian restaurant? Two words, Fettuccine Alfredo... AKA, heart attack on a plate...

I went through Arby's drive thru today and the sandwich was far healthier than a plate of Fettuccine Alfredo.

...Fettuccine Alfredo isnt the only thing on the menu.. We know its unhealthy, its made from cream and cheese. There are healthy choices as far as fat content goes, on a fast food menu. The same goes for a restaurant. Id rather eat at a nice place, like a sushi bar or steak house. Either way theres a good selection healthy Mediterranean food out there.

But yes, tax these fat ass Americans!

I'm against "taxing choices" because there is a value association. Obama wants to tax bad behavior because we pay as a society for bad behavior. If we eliminated community payment for bad behavior and relegate it to the perpetrators I wouldn't care.
